I join Para in his ship to ship combat practice on day 1.
I spend the rest of my time making sure the teleporters work, ensuring that competent engineers are behind me in the command structure should I need to go planetside for whatever reason, running a few simulations alone of rerouting power and ordering AI engineers to critical areas, and making sure that the generators are in as good condition as possible.

I'm never one to miss out on a chance to sharpen my skills, so I'll join Para in his exercise.
Now, when that's done, I will try to practice with firearms. I want to be ready if I ever need to defend myself. I'll also try to keep morale up. Everyone's probably feeling quite nervous about escorting a king.

Day 1: I want to use my spare time in a battle simulation (I know, I do that a lot, but I'm trying to be ready) against a couple of Tyrilian ships. I want to focus on defense and tactics against someone purely using lasers. If anyone else wants to join, welcome them)

I'll join that

Verify the new medical equipment, ask Faden if it is any better or if we we're scammed.

Keep morale up.

Prectice with Class 3 weapons.

((Sorry about the lack of RP, I'm in a hurry right now.))

Oops, sorry, had completely forgotten about it and had a busy day.

I guess its time to let my department know whats going on, but since the science department can't do much right now, ask the captain if there is anything the science department can do ((I mean, this is a military ship, mostly)). Also try and keep morale up.

For the three days, ask Flintus if he knows any martial art routines on the holodeck that he can use or if he can do live sparring with the other senior crew (despite the fact that he has four arns, and is quadrupedal, giving him a big advantage), and also firearm training if possible.

Don't want to be a dead link or something if we end up in a fight.

Also, assist with any research regarding the new mission.

I concentrate on reading about emergency first aid techniques, and learning which, if any, native herbs have medicinal properties. They would be a nice addition to the botanical garden! In my spare time, I ask Flintus to help me learn how to use the gun properly.

Might be good for me to join that one.

Edit: I should mention that he also knows how to use traditional Ki'scri'caa bladed weapons (though he could use a navy issue knife in a pinch or some improvised weapon if he has to), so maybe he can practice with that? The martial arts routimes he wouid have practiced onboard ship would also have doubled as a stress relieving technique, and he hasn't had a need or reason to practice using bladed weapons. He did use them while on his birthworld and some at the academy, but its been a couple of years since.

Edit2: Since melee could cover both unarmed combat and various melee weapons, you could treat it like that, or clone that one into a new bladed weapon skill for Sxtan since you mentioned swordfighting on page one or something.

Edit3: I thought you mentioned something about swordfighing or something earlier, guess not. So, treat that however you want I guess since aside from possible ritual combat, a fight is likely going to be either with phasers or an all out brawl rather than clashing swords.

Yea, I guess the blade specialization thing is good, although in tight quarters and on board ship, doing martial arts would work better.

As for the blades, he does have a few weapons in his quarters which are on display which haven't been used in years, but are well maintained and probably just need a bit of sharpening.

The various weapons are:

A ritual stave-like weapon with a blunt bulge on one end and three blunt hooks on the other. Not meant for real combat and was only used in a combat ritual (more a test of skill than combat) that his clan does. Sometimes carried for other rituals or ceremonies.

4 short blades which he carried with him when he went into dangerous areas when working out in the field on his birthworld. They resemble a machete, except slimmer and with a pointier tip. Being multipurpouse weapons and the equivalent of a survival knife, usually up to 2 are wielded at a time, but all four can be used if neccesary.

Since force isn't likely to be needed, equip only two of them and place them into scabbards which can be hidden, but where Sxtan can whip them out in an instant.

At the surface, assist Faden in checking out the kings health and dealing with any possible medical issues.

Given my poor skill in ranged weapons, I won't pack a phaser ((is that what we're calling them?)) and holster.

If you look in the Swiftwing spoiler it'll show you all the weapons on board.

I guess they're mini-pistols? I was thinking of the word phaser for whatever reason.

Para's in a good mood, feeling like we did pretty well in our Holodeck training.

Para will stay at his station and run frequent sweeps for any ships headed our way, and will make sure that any that are around won't keep him from checking for attacks from other locations.

I don't expect Para would necessarily be on the away mission as he's barely competent with a weapon and generally you don't get a lot of ship-to-ship combat while on the ground, but if Batista wants him there, he'll arm himself and head out. As an Ensign, he'll keep his mouth shut and follow orders, for now.

We forgot to get lessons on protocol last turn.

Being of more use on the ship, Nirur will assume he is staying on the ship unless ordered to go planetside. He will sit at his bridge console, looking up basic Crilite protocol information sharing the more common differences with standard Earth culture and share it with Para/whoever else is on the bridge (Hey, don't idly tap the console in their presence. They consider it to be a way of saying that you're tired of a guest's presence), along with how to address the king. He will also look through the ship databanks for how Tyrilians typically treat prisoners captured during boarding actions. It's very important to know if they merely capture unarmed engineers who surrender.

I'm assuming we are going to get teleported somewhere near the king, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Flash meeting before going down to the planet.

"Okay guys, this is what is going to happen, me, Sxtan and Flintus (and some of his men, 3 tops) are going down to meet the king. Nimitz, Para, Faden and Nirur, you will remain on the ship, as you're more usefull here. Faden, be ready in case something goes wrong. And somebody please check the temperature down there, Sxtan might need some special clothes to keep him warm.
As for protocols, I don't really have time to explain every intrincancy of their traditions and etuiquette, just treat him like you would treat the major representative from your race, and you shoulnd't offend him. Don't act like I will, I'm his friend, you're not. Oh, and ALWAYS, I repeat, ALWAYS, look them in the eyes when you speak, it's a major disrespect not to do so. You're dismissed."

I will take my Class 2 pistol, already in my possesion, and also a Class 3 rifle from the armoury

Get beamed down, and search for the king

"Your majesty... do you still remember me? I beleive there is a certain civil war waiting to be solved." *Smile as I say this*

EDIT: ADDED PROTOCOLS.

I will assist Para in gathering information on proper protocol for dealing with royalty. I will pass this information on to my subordinates and order them to make sure they are well versed in Crilite Physiology, I'll help them learn it later if they aren't (I suspect they aren't)

Now waiting for Nimitz's input, if everything is all right, turn can be expected in 48 hours.
Still doesn't have too much time in weekends :(
