  "Okay ladies and gentleman, who knows where is our Chief Engineer?"
  Just as Captain Batista asked that, Nirur Torir rushed into the conference room and sitted down with a concerned look on his face.
  "Ok...now everyone is here. Let's begin. I believe nobody is going to like this. I just received a priority 1-Beta order, we are going to have to change our current course and head to the StarStation 23, it does not seems to be negotiable. You are in charge of informing your own departments, we will recieve further instructions when we get there. And no, I'm not hiding anything, I know as much as I told you."
  After a short pulse, Batista continued:"I just wonder... what the heck is so important that they would deprive Cephid 17 from these resources, take precious time from a fully manned Swan-class light cruiser and be afraid to transmit it over a secure encrypted channel? Any ideas?"
  Sxtan responded: "No idea either. It could be a military matter, but given the fact that this ship is nearing the end of her lifespan and the fact that we aren't anywhere close to the border, it doesn't seem like that would be the reason."
  "If it's not military, it must be political, I think." Faden followed up.
  After Faden's statement, all the people in the conference room fell silent and considered what sort of problem that might be.
  It's Flintus who broke the silence:"I guess that we'll just have to wait and see. The lack of information given is a little worrying but and order is an order."
  "Yes."Nimitz stated. "To be honest, sir," he began. "I have no idea...but whatever it is, it has to be big. Uh, do you have any history with that station? If I may ask, of course."he shrugged.
  "Not really, I've been serving on Cril some years ago though, it's a planet not far from there, does anyone know if their civil war has ended? Please tell me we were not re-routed so we could babysit a planet."
  Hearing the phrase "babysit a planet", everyone chuckled. Sxtan too, which is a soft but rapid clicking sound for a second, in response. He also does gestures used by his species to indicate what would be a slight smile for a human. "I hope not!...Does anyone have a map? What's near SS23 other than Planet Cril?"
  "Why?...Well I should have done that first..."Nimitz brought out his Insta-Map, placed it on the conference table, and switched it on."StarStation 23, isn't it?...Ok, here you go."
  Everyone focused their attention on the map.
  "Well I should have remembered that...after serving on Cril for so many years...should not have forgotten...for the King." Batista mumbled.
  Beside StarStation 23, Cril System and number of other systems, there's another major presense on that section of space...the Tyrilian Empire.
  "Captain...What's with that?" Faden asked, her voice full of concern.
  "Ok...give me a moment...I will explain. I'd be damned if our mission have nothing to do with them."Batista answered in a low voice. "Well...First thing first....Lieutenant Nirur?"
  "Yes Captain?"
  "Give the best speed you can get now. and Nimitz, set the fastest course for StarStation 23...I want to be there as soon as possible."
  "Aye sir."Nimitz and Nirur answered together.
  "Okay...Dismissed."

  "Helm to Engineering, Ensign Nimitz speaking, I want speed factor 7, as soon as possible." Nimitz called Engineering as he completed the necessary course adjustment.
  "This is Lieutenant Junior Grade Nirur, how long you are going to keep up on that speed? We can give you three weeks at best, she's old you know."
  "You did see our captain's look on face when he see that Tyrilian Empire right? Factor 7 should make it in 2 weeks, I'm not asking for more. She is Swan-class for a reason right?"
  "Ok Ensign we will try. Stay put on your station and maintain monitoring on speed, Nirur out." After a pause, Nirur said to his Engineers:"Okay people...looks like we are going to make this old swan fly a bit faster yet again...Let's do it!"

  "I want additional detail for what we are going up against this time."Batista growled to the face in the comm console."You are withholding vital detail of a very important mission, which might in turn impede on the success of the mission."
  "Do not be so impatient, commander. The only things I could tell you even in a secured channel is that, this mission is very important to Confederation, it indeed does have something to do with Tyrilian Empire as you may already anticipated, and you are important in this mission's success too. Further detail will be given you directly by Admiral Young when you arrive at StarStation 23."
  "Understood."
  "And be careful about who you are talking to next time, commander. Navy Command out."(+2 Intimidation)

  "So the civil war on Cril is finally coming to an end?"Batista asked.
  "Yes, essentially. But the situation is not good." answered Admiral Young, puffing on a curved ebony pipe."The Loyalists are about to push those Revolutionists into the Crystal Sea of Cril, But there is still a point that could end up very bad for us."
  "What's that?"Faden wondered.
  "The Loyalist is about to destroy themselves with internal bickering, potentially giving Revolutionists time to recover and chance to fight back, or throw the planet into new chaos, which would cut the ore supply off. without the ore supply, there will be no stopping for those Tyrilians to keep them from waltzing in and capturing the whole sector."
  "You mean Crilium right?"Sxtan said, more of a statement than a question.
  "Yes. As all of us know, Crilium is a vital energy source of many planets in local space, much safer than Uranium and other similiar isotopes and require much less technology than fusion."
  Batista have known all of this too well, having served as CNF's advisory beside the King of Cril before the Third War, almost since the beginning of his carrer. It is Tyrilians who originally incited the rebellion on the planet by supplying an outlying and rebellous province on Cril with weapons and supplies. Their plan is quite apparent: Take control of Cril, cut off the entire sector from their Crilium supply, then bite a good chunk off the Confederation without too much resistance.
  So far their plan have been going well, by inciting a civil war on Cril 22 years ago.
  Back at that time. when situation looked grim, it's Batista who convinced the King and his family into exile, to save their life from what seemed to be a certain defect at that time.
  But now, the balance of force on Cril have changed again, after a series of Loyalist victory, the rebellion is on the verge of being crushed once and for all, but the war has been dragging so long, that the Loyalists are on the verge of splitting up, and throwing the planet into new chaos.
  However there is one man who all the Loyalists owes political and spiritual allegiance of...the King of Cril. Now it's the time to return the rightful ruler to his throne...after 21 years of exile.
  "I don't thing I have to mention the importance of this mission again, ladies and gentleman." Young continued. "If this mission fails, by the next time of this year, the entire sector around this place will be under Tyrilian control, possibly including this Starstation."
  "But, why it is Swiftwing got assigned this mission?"Para asked. "According to report the Little Swan is docked at this station since late June, and there are 2 other starships in near vicinity."
  "Good question. The answer is: Batista. He is the only Navy officer that have served beside the King for extended time, and is the only officer King trusts in the entire Navy. So the mission is yours, your exact order is to ferry the King of Cril back to his throne, the hauling mission will be handed to Little Swan which have just begun her 18th assignment cycle. Good luck, ladies and gentleman, dismissed."

  [4][4]Despite the unusual occurance, and the age of the ship, Nirur and his Engineering department managed to keep the ship stable on it's maximum cruise speed, factor 7, all the way to StarStation 23 in 15 days, without causing major damage to equipment. Nirur did his part bu monitoring and stablizing the reactor core, as well as helping with some emergency structral failure.(+8 Power Management, +8 Power System Repair, +12 Emergency Repair, +8 Structral Repair)

He scraped the idea of another drill in these days though, as there is already enough trouble trying to keep the ship from flying apart at this speed, which Swiftwing is no longer able to hold on her own at her age.(Better morale)(+10 Morale Management)

Background: Nirur is a fairly recent graduate from fleet school. When he was a child, his role model was Frederick, a teenager who lived next door. Ever since Frederick became a fleet officer, Nirur had dreamed of his own command.

After graduating, he was dismayed that his girth prevented him from passing the physical tests. He continued exercising, and passed the fleet's physical aptitude tests on his second try.

Background: Having grown up in a lower-middle class family star ship command was not a likely option for Flint when he was growing up but like many other children he was raised on stories of the exploits of the heroes of Confederation Navy and he quickly set his sights. Flint doesn't often talk about how he managed to get into the academy or the inquiry that was ordered relating to it, but regardless there was not enough evidence to press charges, unfortunately Flint still carries this blemish on his report. Life in the academy was easy enough Flint had trained his body to peak athleticism and was a naturally talented shooter. The academic side provided more of a challenge but Flint worked hard and passed with an impressive record showing excellent talent in his martial skills and was placed on security.
Flint has served on one ship and his relatively lower class upbringing saw him get along very well with the other crew members. Of course the questionable way he was able to get into the academy in the first place saw tensions between him and his officers however nothing too drastic ever came to pass. And excellent repour with crew members as well as a heroic performance in one of only two instances of space combat saw Flint promoted and he was sent back to Earth ready for his new posting.

The Swiftwing is one of the first(and sadly, also one of the last) ship of Swan-class Light cruiser.
Equipped with top-of-the-line technology, facility and equipment at it's prime, Swan-class formed a large part of the effective defence force throughout the last century, and performed well in both the Second and Third War, and as a result, many ship of this class has been lost in battle.
Originally designed with a service lifespan of 80 years, Swan-class performed beyond all expections, and is certfied of an additional lifespan of 20 years(Actually mainly because of the Third War).
Now this class of ship is meeting its end even with its extended lifespan, and began to show all sort of problem with aging.

This ship is relatively small for a light cruiser, only slightly larger most heavy destroyer nowadays, but still well-armored when compared to destroyers even with it's age.
It's called Swan-class for a reason, for its long, wide and downswept HL engine pylon connecting elongated main hull and long HL engine.
It's also capable of minimal atmospheric operation, but not landing except in absolute emergency because of the downswept and fixed HL engine pylon, and lack of landing strut. An emergency landing can be a premature end of the ship's service life.

The newest weaponery aboard the ship are the twelve General Weaponery GWHEP5-MK2P HEPPC Cannon mounted on port and starboard of the ship, replaced its predecessor in the 2400 refit, you checked your Combat Starship Simulator, and seems like the information in the simulator is pretty accurate, you chilled in your spine.
The oldest is the two Confederated Technology HEP8-MK3A-3 Triple mount HEPPC Array, which is already mounted since the ship's entrance into the service in 2326.
You also notes that the power requirement that listed on the operation manual is the power requirement to fire one of the multiple cannon mounted on the same point.
Also noted is that the 2 main cannon mount's power conduit is directly connected to the reactor core itself, possibly field-modified some years before, that allows more power on the main cannon mount as long as reactor's up, but will cause complications if the core is down, this also incresed the risk of damage in case of an overload feedback from the cannon.
The intergrity of the Weaponery Powergrid is pretty good despite its age, at least when compared to other systems of the ship.

The ship itself in combat efficiency is comparable to a newer medium destroyer, with strength in Armor, Shield and Point-defense effectiveness, and weakness in Maneuverabilty and Speed when compared to one of such ship. However this ship cannot hope to handle a newer light cruiser on itself, at least not in its current state of maintainance, the last crew should be reassigned to ground duty for their disregard on maintainance and bad attitute toward the next crew.

Lieutenant J.g. Sxtan's Ki'scri'caa Brown Tea is poisonous by causing severe diarrhea to anyone other than himself, but as long as others don't take the wrong cup there should be no problem.
Me, Lieutenant J.g. Faden's feather might cause a few crew a minor allergic reaction, mainly minimal sneezing, none of the senior officer is allergic to my feather though.
There might still be undiscovered allergic and pathological reactions, but that would need time to discover.

Cephid 17 is a binary system, 1205.2 lightyears away from Earth which is at the border between Core and Frontier systems of the Confederation of star.
Swiftwing should be able to reach the destination within a half year if everything went all right on a cruise speed factor of 6.0 and stay on the +1.0 Hyperspace highway.
Nothing much is interesting in the way though, as this is a pretty busy spacelane and everything around has been througthoutly studied.

Once the Swiftwing is docked, I will prepare to enter the station with the rest of the officers. Before we leave, though, I try to ask around for some information about the Tyrilian Empire.

EDIT!: Guys, take a look at our character info, we are already on the station. I had made something similar to what you wrote, but when I went to look at the info for Sxtan, I saw that we are on the station itself already.

Read up on any history of the Tyrillian empire and Cril that may seem relevant. Afterwards, use his connections to get a map of known and potential deposits of Crilium and ask captain Bastista if he remembers anything about stragetic locations, barring anything confidential and it has been over 20 years.
