Does Brewing produce seeds from a plant?

Or does it "destroy" the seeds like cooking does?

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.
Only in Dwarf Fortress...

yes , it does

afaik , just like eating , one processed plant gives two seeds, up to 200 of that kind (i think)

If you haven't found it yet, the wiki is a good source of info on what does what, although the pages for the new version aren't very detailed at the moment so you may need to check the 40d pages instead (each article has links to the other versions).
