They're finally getting most of the construction finished, and then orange barrels start springing up in an intersection near my house!

Oh man that's rich.  You should see I-75 where it ends, down here in DFW.  Every goddamn highway has been under construction somewhere along its route for the entire 13 years I've been living here.  The city is growing so fast in so many different directions, the traffic patterns and congestion change before the roads are finished being worked on.  By the time one project is finished, it's obsolete and needs to be revamped.  It's reached the point that I swear some jurisdictions just throw up orange barrels to look like they're doing something.

But of the real projects, the kicker is I-30 through Arlington.  In preparation for the traffic they expect at the new cowboys stadium, the highway has been being expanded the whole time I've been going to college over there.  It's going to be twelve lanes wide.  Twelve fucking lanes, sunk into a man-made canyon fifteen miles long.  I don't want to live in Los Angeles thank you very much.

I also live just south of Cincinnati, rather than near Dayton, but I've been up north my share of times, and it's not like I-75 isn't an utter mess down here as well.

...And I thought 75 went from Detroit to Miami?  I'm absolutely certain it doesn't go to Texas.

WHY IS THERE AN INTERSTATE 75 AND US HIGHWAY 75?  That was confusing the shit out of me.  And presumably a lot of other people.  Stupid Eisenhower and his stupid national road system.
