* Using the computer and writing down names in the DN will get you instabanned.

yes, because the computer ONLY has the names of the other players. </sarcasm>

Here's a hint: you need to know just about everything about the person before the computer becomes a useful asset, and by the time that happens, someone's typically already down at the power killing all power to the rooms with computers. I kid you not, there are multiple entries with virtually identical descriptions and if memory serves me correctly there's some cases where there are twins/triplets/etc. and the computer becomes useless for figuring out the name.

Zeta: All you have to do is write down every name except yours, it just takes a bit of time.  not all that hard to do, especially if you copy it to notepad first.

it doesn't take 50 seconds (from the start of the game) for someone to knock out power to the computers, rendering that strategy useless. Heck, it's usually the first thing that happens (that or someone cuts the power to the entire map).

I think I mentioned I played this a while back.

Things I noticed on other servers

Someone tends to hoard all the room keys
There's typically several people trying to cyber or hitting on every single female they come across
Power goes out.  A lot.
Never taser someone else twice in a row(This causes some major bug if I remember right)
There's not a whole lot to do sometimes.  Rounds go on for a loooooong time.
Combat is difficult, and people have a lot of health.

The actual developer is a pretty cool guy.  He made Sigrogana Legend(Which has also been overrun) first which was a very neat RPG.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Could these possible be dealt with by complaints being sent in via chat and some sort of punishment for the offending character? (I mean, if they're the Killer, they probably could justify some of those, but usually its not the Killer doing it)

Tasing someone twice destroys their entire inventory, so it can destroy the Death Note, Shinigami Eyes (I think), and potentially screw up the entire round

The rounds go on, but they are guaranteed to always end (There's a time limit), and usually if there's only two players left, someone (usually a dead character) says "Will you two kill each other already!" (Or words to that effect). It's horrible metagaming, but sometimes the two characters are quite happy to stay as they are until the round times out.

Also, in Combat, I think there's a server setting called "Weapon Lethality", if that's set high enough, it can make combat finish pretty quickly.

B12 needs its own server that the Mitadake High community can't touch. Some of the players on there are terrible. I like the current set of rules, but I assume if you can justify the killing, it won't be considered Random Killing?

Server won't go up today since I'm going to be out for most of it.

Also my biggest gripes with M.H. are that there's no way to set up more than just the local host as an admin and no admin panel but that's just me.

I agree it takes too long to kill people. It takes literally nothing to catch the killer because he has to chase the victim across the school, blood gushing from their body, and he will probably lose them.

I've played this a good bit before... You can alter the lethality levels, computer usage, and a handful of other options on the server menu, and you can also make your server invisible to the server listing, or just restrict access to approved keys.

Though, for the lethality, I've never found the default level to be too difficult when I needed to jump someone. It's just a matter of getting them somewhere restricted enough to prevent their escape.

'Aight, I'm in.
I'm an avid 'Good' roleplayer, and I still play SS13.
And frequently on SS13 I'd shout "All entences begin with a capitol letter"  into the OOC.
So, yeah.

I'm in.
Anything I need to know?

Is the spelling in your quote meant to be irony?

How does the B12 server work, is it a password or something, or was it just speculation.

If we can get a server going and some actual RP going on i'd be interested in this.

I'm trying to run it now.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun.
