So yep. Going to make my first -serious- fortress and I'm going to attempt to prolong fun for aslong as I can. (WITH SCREENS )

So first off a screenie showing my starting position on my newly created world.


Oooh Flux Stone .
And ofcourse a perm water source, some mountains and trees.
Now I know it says Untamed Wilds but I wanted a challenge for my first real try so I'm cool with it.

Yetis? Lolwut? (Really hoping that isn't foreshadowing)

So some first comments.
Holy carp star rubies and normal rubies abound as are that coal stuff.
Digging out storage rooms suck. I'm just leaving my stone outside my front door.
As for creatures;
Just some foxes and two-humped camels. Not to bad if I say so myself.
Is native platinum good cause I just mined a piece of it out and stockpiled it?



And tips/comments/help would be much appreciated I'll update this soon. <3

How do I make fuel?
I mean I know coal (the ore) and I've got alot of it but how does it become fuel (I have no fuel).
Also my charcoal command isn't being created even though I know I have a dwarf with the skill to operate furnace.

you need a smelter to make it into "coke" which is then used for fuel.
of course, you need fuel to make coke in the smelter so you need a wood furnace to make charcoal from wood logs to make the fuel to make the coke.
