Really? I was expecting it to be several days of adventeruring, and symtoms only begin afetr a while and are delayed. like "Iv ben stung but I feel just fine I guess."

It's a little sad that there is actually nothing dangerous in adventure mode for the moment, including giant scorpians and giant cave spiders. There are things that can't kill you (almost everything) things you (mostly) can't kill but still can't kill you (like BCs) and then rare random things that may be able to kill you dependent on their special power and your luck. At least that's true for a dwarf with metal armour, a few minutes spent gaining pertinent legendary skills and not getting thrown into a wall by a giant.
