Wrestling without a doubt,it has saved me so many times including a battle with an ettin i had a mortal wound and had the ettin in a chokehold and chances are the ettin would of killed me the next turn if i didn't strangle it,it passed out soon after the strangling after that i RAN and healed then came back for revenge.if you want to know what happened after go on the most violent kills topic.

Swimming.

YES!  Hands down, yes!

Distant second place would have to be dodge, I think.

Ever since I started giving swimming to every adventurer I make, I haven't fallen in a single murky pool.

Dodge and wrestling are superior investments on any character. So is armor/shield user if you are a melee fighter.

Swimming.
QFT

So many times. Like when that river melted when I was standing on it.

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.

Swimming skill killed me. I was happily paddling about in an ocean to raise the skill up from novice and didn't realize I was melting until it was too late. You seem to melt faster in hot water than you do magma.
