Not really. The Fork will just speed things up, and I have no use for it. And the book is about something they know about but do not yet understand. Besides,  the important part isn't that they don't have help, but that they are actually working toward advancement. I'd be fine with them suddenly having spaceships, as long as they weren't satisfied to stop there and kept trying to become greater.

Quite possibly yes, and which prevents anyone else from safely using their crazy contraptions. They are truly insane, I'm sure Mania would enjoy their company.
