The Weekly Wambler, Issue 2, Wednesday 28-april-2010.
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:55:38 pm »

Issue two out!
First, of all, I want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm. Thanks to you, the previous issue of the Weekly Wambler was a hit.
In the meantime, I acquired two fellow editors, of which one was a big help in quality assurance. And the Weekly Wambler can be subscribed to now.
Other changes include the reworked layout, to allow outside news to fit in better.

The contribution idea has proven to be a succes. We had to rewrite some things because of inaccuracy, spelling, or lack of information, but I hope this isn't too much of a problem(And even then, you can always go back to the previous topic to see what the original summary was, if you wanted to).
In any case, the Weekly Wambler issue 2 is finished, and I hope you will enjoy it!

Yours truly,
TheraHedwig, Head-editor of the Weekly Wambler.

You too, can contribute to the Weekly Wambler.

You may have noticed I have omitted some sections, in fact, you may find that a lot of topics I didn't write anything about!
A lone person like me can't possibly summarise the whole forum, so I'm asking YOUR help!

If there's something related to this forum or to DF that you think is an interesting topic or should receive the attention of more people, you can make it appear in the Weekly Wambler!

So what should you do?

Post in this thread:
-The topic or link
-A summary of what it links to.
-A picture(Optional, but usefull if it regards graphical mods or visualisers)
-A headline(also optional)

You may even give an update on a previously featured thread or news, provided that it has updated significantly from it's previous mention.
If you have other ideas, like a column, or a tip, or a thought out article about the state of the forum or whatever you think would be interesting for the Weekly Wambler, you can also submit it in this thread.

And it may get into next week's Weekly Wambler, with your name at the top!

Due to massive popularity the Weekly Wambler has, I've set up an Archive topic, please follow the instructions in the topic to subscribe to the Weekly Wambler.

I had another poll that got a lot of votes recently:

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=55210.0

this one is on the topic of save compatibility.

(i also made an open letter to Toady on the subject, but that has far less relevance)

i have also discovered that i quite like running polls, so if you can think of something relevant and contentious to this community i would love to start a poll on it. we could try to make is a weakly feature!

Subscribing!!!

Mind if I write a short article about my mod? It's quite complete and bugless already so I guess it would be OK to start advertising it.

Small typo/misspelling.  "Tower of Babil" should be "Tower of Babel."
Âsax got a mention.  Makes me feel warm 'n' fuzzy.  Been meaning to continue that fort, but between my modding experiments and finals week, haven't gotten a chance.  Found a place that might be good for a monument, though.

Yeah, I dug a bit too deep, and unleashed a magma man sometime between the warm stone cancellations and the magma sea. IT PHASED THROUGH A WALL OR SOMETHING. I don't know. It killed twelve, and caused a tantrum spiral that knocked the population down to 33 by the end of the next turn. It was hilarious.

Whoops!

I'm now accepting PMs, so next week there shouldn't be any trouble.
