I'm imagining this chick looking like whatsername from the emperor's new Groove (i know i spelled that wrong) sitting in a coffee shop looking at this guy who's scared out of his freakin' mind.

Yzma. Or Principal Amzy, if you like.

Okay, guys. This is what I think. I think the man would be good for us. Lowered megalomania, lowered stress, possible connections too. He might have a bank account we can siphon, though we'll need to replenish it or hurt our pride. And isn't it so much better to have an invention when you have someone to show it to? This is an opportunity; let's not squander it for a free meal.

We should use games and this guy in tandem. Talk with him to improve psychology, use it on the game and improve psychology, etc. We could end up with a really fun game and a very useful guy. Heck, if we can get a love slave, we hardly have to risk anything ourselves - we could even use his bank account to buy parts and remove suspicion.

What offers, if any, have been made on the bot?
How much do the parts to remake the bot cost? What about higher quality ones? Can you give us a parts list with costs?
Talk with the guy. Discuss the game; ask what he thinks it should include, and what would appeal to people. Ask about his interests, and discuss those too. After about 30 minutes of talking, tell him you should get home, but ask for his cell phone number. Sleep.

Check our character's statistics. We are wearing Casual Clothing of NORMALCY! at the moment.

Oh, that's another thing I wanted to ask about.
Why do we both have Casual Clothing of NORMALCY! and Regular Clothes under our lab coat? Are we wearing casual clothing, then regular clothes over that, then a lab coat?

My bad - I remembered to put the lab coat back on, but forgot to take off the casual clothes of normalcy. Fixed.

Casual clothes have been removed.

Also, sorry no update since this morning, a bit distracted mentally and haven't come up with something I've liked really.

Action 19
You do your best to be social, figuring having some contacts in the area would be convenient, and he is kind of cute. Of course, approaching you like this, he is also probably a spy sent by one of your many rivals. But still, they are not match for you, and he is but human - whatever his aims, he might prove useful.

"Uh... hi. Ho-how are you?" You stutter back.

Damn. That's a good response, right? Wait, he asked you a question. Damn it all, what the hell did he ask you.?This social stuff has never really been your field of expertise, thats for sure, and he managed to catch you off guard. Luckily, he seems to take it in stride. He laughs a bit.

"Good, good, its a beautiful morning. Yourself?" You suddenly remember that he had asked you if you were new in town.

"Uhm, yes. I'm new here. I only recently moved in." You debate whether or not to tell him it was into the house down the street. If he's a spy, maybe you should keep that information to yourself for now. Still, gotta try to make a good impression.

"Good to see a new face around, then! So, what are you working on there?"

"Oh!, Just, you know," you stammer a bit "Just looking some stuff up... and, uh. Ah! I made a game, yes. A masterpiece, really." Why didn't you think of it! You can surely impress him with your most recent piece of work.

"You make games? Wow, that's pre-."

"I threw it together yesterday, definitely blows everything else on this site out of the water." You continue. He seems a bit taken aback. Or something. Damn it, you must have made a mistep... ah, you know! You can...
"Would you like to give it a try?"

He smiles, "Sure. You put it up on OldSky, huh? I guess I have time for a few rounds of some little flash game."

"Also, in exchange for playing my game, you should buy me some more coffee and a cinnamon bun." you say, as you push the netbook over to him. Pulling up the game, you were suddenly reminded of how hungry and tired you were by your growling stomach.

He raises an eyebrow at you, then laughs. He still seems a bit taken aback again, though. He turns to the game and gives it a try, but doesn't mention anything about the food. You wonder if you should press him about it, then decide against it. He plays for a minute or two, but seems increasingly more confused.

"I don't... I mean, this looks nice, but... I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing..." he says.

"Oh," you say, "the first levels pretty simply. I'm sure you can figure it out." You consider offering him advice, but then you remember that you hate when people offer you advice on overcoming challenges. Takes all the fun out of them. And since you're trying to make a good impression, you should probably just let him figure it out on his own.

A short while later, he's got a game over screen. You encourage him to try again, but again he loses fairly quickly.

"Well, uhm... I'm sure its a very nice game, really, but I think it's beyond me. Anyways, it's nice to meet you..." he says, standing and offering his hand. You stare at it for a moment before realizing what he wants. You take his hand and look up at him.

"Dr. Donlan." you say, grinning. "But you can call me Dr. Rose." That was a smooth line. Very smooth, in your opinion.

"Well, my name is Nathan. Nathan Barnaby. Nice to meet you, Doctor Rose." He puts a weird inflection on the Doctor part, you're not sure why.  "But I'm afraid I've got to be going. See you tomorrow, maybe?"

"Maybe." you say back, and wave as he heads out the door. That went well, you think, even if the man is obviously an ignoramus of incredibly proportions. You never really were very good at this social stuff, and its been a few years since you really engaged with someone outside of your colleagues and fellow students, whom you generally loathed, so you might be a bit rusty as well. Still, social interactions are just another puzzle to solve, and you're sure with a bit of dedication you can apply yourself and master it in no time at all.

New Relationship Added: Nathan Barnaby - Acquaintance (Neutral)
Knowledge Gained: Psychology + .1

Spoiler: Schematics and Mods (click to show/hide)

Now, you're games been up for a little while now. Perhaps people have commented on it? But you ARE pretty tired... perhaps it can wait until you've gotten some sleep. Or is there something else more important to do?

You are Very Tired (extremely tired + coffee).
You are Hungry.

Great. Our game requires genius IQ to play... I want a copy!

Didn't glyphgryph say something about "failure dice" once we reach this level of tiredness? Time to get back to sleep(we should wake back up around 3 PM, and all mad scientists are nocturnal anyway!), but first agree to meet him tomorrow. We need minions!

I'm really glad people are hopefully not going to act like this once Doctor SCIENCE! from Man of SCIENCE! goes out in public.

Yes! Sleep, and meet him tomorrow. If you have time after sleeping and before meeting him, try to program a simpler flash game, less than 1 hour's worth of complexity, and show it to him. Ask what he likes and dislikes.
