Psychology-
If   it has to do with the mind, any mind, you are its master. You know how   to exploit the flaws inherent in living wetware. With psychology you can   control, cajole, convince, and terrify, without ever lifting a finger.   The best Psychologists can, with a few small words, sway the most   stubborn mind and find fanatically loyal minions wherever they roam.   Best of all, psychology can be practiced with a minimum of supplies -   you can even use yourself as a test subject.

Psychology allows   improved interactions with others, and boosts the resolve, loyalty, and   efficiency of your minions. It will also allow you to manipulate your   enemies into doing what you want anyway. Psychology is crucial for those   planning to pull a Xanatos Gambit.

Psychology   works well with Biology, since your abominations are   for more useful if you know how to command them, Programming,   where it is a required component for convincing human like AI, and Chemistry,   where a good psychology will help with a wide variety of drugs.

2 Vote Psychology (Cognitive science is located in   this area.)

This is realy not the same thing, if anything phsycology is a special case of cognitive science rather than the reverse.
In sugested gameplay terms:
- psychology lets you convince humans to do what you want them to do, and how to cause or cure various forms of mental illness. Data is usually gotten from behavioural studies, talking, or even introspection.
- cognitive science lets you design a new mind from scrath, by programing, uplifting a nonsentinent species, or something else that can proces information (withoute it, you have to copy human brains for any biological minions you want to make intelegent), it is also good for intelegence anchantment and for dealing with ailien very nonhuman minds that dont folow the laws of human phsycology. Data is usually gotten from programing simulations, or throguht surgery and electrodes.

Meh. I just want to brainwash people to be our minions. So let's get psychology as a book.

Chemistry.

I designed these disciplines and by GOD I know which ones are most useful.

Hmm. You have a point. It's easier to scrounge around for parts at the junkyard than it is getting chemicals. We can just get a engineering book. Chemistry.

Info 3
Engineering-
From buildings to bulldozers, giant mecha to nanomachines, rifles to computers, Engineering is a versatile and powerful discipline. Whenever you need to make or design any sort of machine or structure, Engineering will help you do it, and do it well. The drawback is that practicing Engineering, especially at higher levels, requires significant sources of raw materials and a steady source of funding. The sheer immensity of many Engineering projects means a staff of minions will certainly help speed things along as well. Without them, most advanced Engineering is extremely time consuming.

Engineering does not really have any passive benefits to others skills, but thats more than made up for by its scope. And since almost every science requires equipment, Engineering can prove an effective way to cut costs for rare tools and machines.

Engineering works well with Programming, by providing a way for your software to effect the real world, Biology, by allowing the exploration of cybernetics, and provides useful platforms for weapons developed via Chemistry and Physics research. Physics can prove a useful tool for aspiring Engineers, allowing you to create advanced materials and optimize your designs.

Is this like Panda's and we start with lvl1 Physics if we don't choose it as our primary or secondary discipline?

I say chemistry, with psychology and engineering books.

ACTION 3
Quote
thinking back to your time in school spent studying...
SCIENCE!

Engineering, to be exact. What use is creating the finest artificial mind in the world without a superior metallic masterpiece to put it in? Plus, you've always had a thing for tanks. Mmmm... You are roused from your reverie by the sound of knocking on the door. Stomping over, prepared to upbraid the person who dares interrupt your ceaseless quest in service to SCIENCE!, you throw open the door.

On the other side stands a delivery man in white overalls. He hands you a heavy box, and asks you to sign. Scowling at him, you do so, then slam the door. What could possible be in these...

Ah! Cutting open the box, you find it contains the books you ordered. As much of a genius as you are, you felt it would be prudent to expand your horizons a bit now that you are on your own.

Spoiler: Statistics (click to show/hide)

You take the books out and spread them across the table. They are about...

No, no free skills in this one. Physics is far less of a general catchall than in Pandarsenic's.

Alright. I'll accept Psych and chem.
Although we might want to look into physics at some points. After all, what is a giant battlemech and an army of brainwashed minions without orbital-death-ray support?
Absolutely NOTHING!

perhaps in place of chemistry?

We can purchase a physics book along the way. Once we get actual levels in the books we can sell them and buy a physics one I think.

Biology(cybernetics FTW!) and chemistry.

Hmm... a man of SCIENCE is nothing without his goatee.. so what mark of evil SCIENCE does a woman of SCIENCE have?
