Deep within the Nameless World, Astra'ath observes the creation of the elemental moons and finally stirs. A rumbling fills the cavernous space at the core of the planet.
We have been idle for too long.
We must create a champion.
We will use the godly works against them.
Four tentacles shoot out from its massive bulk, penetrating the stone and burrowing out in all directions.
First We take fire...
In the middle of a lonely desert, a mound of sand rises. A mass of flesh explodes out of the ground, its end unfolding to reveal a twisted leech-like mouth. It waves about momentarily, as though seeking something, then orients on the moon of fire. Power pulses along its bulk, and space twists around it. A stream of fiery energy blasts down through the void, connecting the gaping maw to the fiery moon. The tentacle bursts into flame all along its length, becoming a pillar of elemental fire.
Now water...
From the sea, another bulky tendril bursts forth. It plunges out of the ocean's surface, rising hundreds of feet into the air. Its maw opens, orienting on the icy moon. Icy waves of energy are siphoned down into the thirsting orifice, and the sea around it freezes over instantly. The tentacle hardens and cracks, becoming a massive tower of ice. Shining blue energy pulses down from the heavens, illuminating twisted script which glows along the tower.
And air...
Far to the north, a mountainside explodes. Several tendrils reach forth, twisting around one another to form an enormous flower bulb. It pulses once, twice, the surface twisting and changing. Finally it splits at the top, opening like some evil blossom. Fleshy petals spread wide, drinking in the radiance of the lightning moon, before sharp spines slide out all along their edges. With a crackle and snap, lightning lances down from the moon and dances along the petals, drawn towards the central stalk and channeled down into the depths. The entire assembly lights with crackling energy, and the mountain around it heats, steam rising as snow is melted away.
And finally... earth.
The most impressive display yet, as Astra'ath concentrates, bursts forth from a forest floor. Hundreds of small, whip-thin appendages displace trees and animals as they rise higher and higher into the sky, reaching out beyond the air and into the Void. Finally they come to rest, slapping wetly against the metal moon. They pulse, each drawing minuscule amounts of energy out of the divine creation and feeding it back along their length, down into the world's depths.
All of this lasts for a mere 30 seconds before each withers and dies, turning instantly to dust and blowing away.
Within the cavern, Astra'ath plucks the soul of Sothurn from the ether where it had been stored. Ignoring the soul's struggle, tendrils spread it flat against the cavern floor.
The energies of the Earth are channeled into the soul, injected into its very core. A body of stone forms around the soul, a cage of granite wrapped around the screaming form. Lightning strikes next, and the statue animates with a scream. Its eyes fly open, shining brightly as the elemental energies pour into it, filling it to bursting. Wings grow from its back, functional and fully formed, spread wide against the stone floor. Fire engulfs it, and its granite skin cracks and the interior becomes molten, threatening to escape at any moment. The fearful scream turns to rage as unreasoning fury enters its heart. A fearsome blade forms in its hand, an extension of its self made of molten lead wreathed in a fiery aura which somehow keeps its shape. Cold tempers its will and throws up clouds of steam. Its outer skin hardens and becomes like armor, as durable as the substance of the metal moon yet flexible and pliant so as not to hamper movement. The rage in its eyes cools, simmering below the surface.
Sothurn, the Righteous Fury
You are reborn in Our service, you will be Our avatar
Forged from the elements of the world, on the crucible of Our will
You embody all that which is Entropy and Destruction
Slay our enemies and bring fear to the hearts of the mortals
A flurry of motion as tendrils shoot out, etching Sothurn's chest before his outer skin has cooled. The elder sign of Astra'ath glows a dull red from its chest, embedded there for all time, ensuring Sothurn's obedience. The 300ft tall Avatar rises to its feet, and its mighty roar shakes the world.
Astra'ath creates an Avatar using Sothurn's soul and divine energy from the four elemental moons.
