Coradin felt a familiar presence approach. One of his siblings, coming to visit. He turned away from the Valkyrie officers and towards the presence.
He saw the massive cloud of insects that was Galt. Coradin moved over to the swarm.

Astra'ath has different ideas, brother. They have just freshly come from doing battle with the fleet that is headed this way to pillage and plunder, and there is not much time left. If you will not attack, defend yourself. They must rest.

The fleet rallies in the depths of space, repairing the damage done and reallocating Starspawn among the vessels. Sothurn took up his place again, standing at the prow of Entropy. On his arm, the shell of a slain insect had been hollowed out and now serves as a shield. His blade hisses with fury in the vacuum, the souls of his fallen kin rage against the one who turned them against their purpose.

Losses were light, overall. Several frigates and destroyers destroyed by the soul golem, many more damaged. It took some time to repair the jagged rents in the hulls but once more the Armada was on its way... and now they were not alone. Astra'ath rallies the Gaunts to fly alongside the great ships. They serve as scouts in the void, watching for enemies, and as distractions in combat plaguing mortal and divine alike with visions and distracting imagery.

They claw at the void, tearing their way back up to their impossible velocities, and on they come.

Coradin stared in disbelief. Astra'ath's forces were coming? Why, and why him? He didn't ponder on it too long, though, turning back around and running back to theInstrument of War.

'Valkyries, the dark god sends his forces against us. Bring the ship to full battle readiness. We have to defend the Palace.'

The Valkyrie officers looked surprised at first, but quickly gathered their wits and got to work. No time to waste. Alarms rang through the ship and the crew began running towards their positions. The boarding parties readied their weapons and the shuttles themselves.
Once the Valkyries were prepared, nothing would rob them of their concentration.
The ship began to wake up and move.

Coradin knew it would only be foolish to try to go against Astra'ath alone. He needed the others. Galt was there, and Natus, he guessed, was down on the planet.
Sending a message down to search for him, he thought about the others. They were simply too far away. The Protector would be out of his element in space, and the Morai were on the other side of the world.

These forces would have to do.

That is indeed possible.

From frandor, a small beam of light emerged. This was relatively small in intesity, but it was enough to mark stone and metal.

This beam of light jittered about, dancing across the floor of the refugim. In its wake, it left marks. These marks were schematics, plans. Each plan was small, yet incredible in detail. They incorporated seemingly every type of fuel and delivery system, and ranged from smaller than a single cell to larger than a planet.

We am afraid that there is little more we can do. We shall have to join the battle now, and we must conserve our resources. We have a bond with those involved, and we will not let them fight alone. We must implore you to come and join us when you are able.

Chara had reached the nameless planet, and Frandor acted. A flash of light passed through the planet. For a few seconds, nothing more happened, but then the planet shifted.

It had been split into two halves, these two halves moving apart. The hemishpehes had been sealed, the molten rock and atmosphere not flowing into the gap. The split was directly through the heart of Astra'ath's lair.

Frandor splits the planet in half

"This is enough, dear brother, thank you. I would glady give you a clap on your shoulder.. But you have none. Excuse me, i`ll have to set my ironborn to work.. I hope i`ll join the fray soon enough. Good luck."

----Some time later, on Ferraria----

For the Ironborn it was easy enough to read the schematics. Already they were working hard, assembling pieces small and big. Several ship hulls were already finished, but that was easy work.. The fuel cells and the complex machines required to use the ships were a different matter.

The Adjustements to the chosen were easier to implement, though. Their armor was adjusted, so that it would be a full body armor now. Air Tanks and a proper isolation were also added to them, enabling the chosen to survive in the space for some hours.

The Ironborn had also started to improve his chosen. With surgery they added protective layers of iron around vital organs- The heart, the lungs, the brain and on several other places. This was done with next to no anesthesia, for the chosen feared no pain since they are reborn if they die, anyway.

The ferals addicted to the deaths brew were als enhanced- And made to chosen. Though, they were given chambers in one unused part of the refugium. They were a bit too violent.

"Soon" Gheronaton muttered.

Gheronaton orders the ironborn to build several ships, which will be described by me later. Also the chosen get protective implants and an updated armor. (Image them as warhammer 40k spacemarines. But they aren`t finished yet. )

The berserkers are also enhanced and made to chosen- Though, they are kept separately.

Mania's voice rocked through the Universe, heard by every man, woman and child. Every Mortal, and every God.

"Astra'Ath! You have no Idea the power you have arrayed against you. The very Gods themselves march to war, as do the insane! Much divine blood will be spilled today!"

The Insane begin to gear for war, taking whatever weapon suits them. Mad farmers dual-wield pitchforks, Crazy soldiers grab their blades, and those that cannot reach the battle head for Dragnar's Library. Geronoton's Breserkers are no-longer violent towards those not aligned against Astra'Ath.

"I am become Mania, destroyer of Gods."

The Pain...so sweeeet

The Death of trillions of insectoid life forms poured like a wave over Quôths senses. He could already fee the slow decay Astra'ath has set into motion. So it began again. The bodies of the few insectoid among his Korpr had been brought from the bridge and disposed in the biomass converter. They would feed the rest for another day.

Kvasir set the ships in motion, the war has begun!

Instantly loud cheering echoed on the whole bridge.

As you wish Lord Crow.

Quôth regretted that he had to leave the Coin behind and consume it later on, but there were corpses much riper in another place...
_______________________________

It had taken them some time to arrive at the battlefield and the combatants had already left but this was all the better. Quôth admired the lifeless bodies floating in front of the Arflognir and the small flottilla.

Status?

Kvasir brooded a few seconds over a screen before answering

Sir we have several Starspawn bodies out there seemed like insects had bitten them into shreds. Also we have several hundred floating carcasses of aforementioned insects floating between the wrecks.

The only insectoid being in this reality who couldn't be affected by Astra'aths might could only be Galt.

Quôth hesitated for a moment before finally giving the command

convert the Starspawn bodies but gather those insectoid carcasses i want to autopsy them. When i am right then maybe we might get more from those corpses than simple mass...

Several small Fighter crafts and drones streamed from the  Gravedigger-Class Destroyers and begun the tedious work of gathering the bodies which once belonged to Galt, while their motherships begun to dissolve the dead Starspawn into a brownish mass which then was absorbed and brought to the inner of the ships.

The battle was joined already, she had waited distracted too long. Even now, she felt the shattering of peace upon the nameless world, as it split sent rippling earthquakes over it’s surface. Mania could wait, she must act now. In her hands, she reached out and took some of the light of Maia. She gathered it up into a glowing sphere, imparted it with knowledge and power, and flung it out into space.

The knowledge in it would flow out to the worlds, and settled in the minds of intelligent mortals. By far, it mostly settled on the minds in the nameless worlds, but a few on each world with intelligent populations received it as well. It was knowledge of a ritual, one Luna had just devised. If mortals were in need of refuge or peace, they could inscribe the ground with the symbol of a crystalline moon and star, and a way to Aether would open. These portals were made possible by the power Luna colleted in the starlight, which merged into the void.

But she was not yet done. She needed to make sure that this ritual could not be misused to bring war to Aether. She flew to the mountains, and begin hollowing one of the great crystals, creating a vast hall within it. Columns of glittering sapphire reached up from a diamond floor to support the great domed ceiling far above. These columns were arranged in a circle around a vast floor. It was within these circles that those who used her ritual would appear. She imbued this hall with judgment, insight, and will. If those who arrived truly sought refuge, or were peaceful, they would be allowed to stay. But if they had willfully used the ritual to bring harm to Aether, they would be sent back.

<><><><>
Meanwhile, the light of Luna’s working could be seen over Aether. The beings Garthor asked merely directed him toward this starlight.

Act 1: Luna creates the ritual ‘Mark of Luna. Anyone inscribing the symbol of a crystalline moon and star on the ground can make a portal to Aether.

Act 2: Luna creates the crystal hall, where any arriving via the ‘Mark of Luna’ would arrive. If they used the Mark of Luna to come to Aether to bring harm to it, they would be sent back by the power in the hall.

A new star shone in the sky above the Nameless World.  The inhabitants rejoiced, as they knew that it was there by divine influence.  And then the planet was cut in two.
The lance of fire destroyed many towns, and one space station.  The rest fired on the star.
The surviving inhabitants cursed the names of the other gods and swore not to help them in any wars against Palad'in or Astra'ath.
Palad'in directed his warriors in The Vault to ready themselves for combat. They had been thrust into this war, and they would participate.
He then turned to the matter of his swiftly breaking planet. All the insects had died in a pulse of power, and already plants were dying.  He took a small asteroid from the belt and broke it into small pieces.  He then carved them into figurines of what the insects on his world used to look like.  He infused them with godly power, and they sprang into life.  He seeded the halves of the world with them, and they gladly went about their duties.

ACT THE THIRD: Palad'in creates stone insects and seeds his world with them. The obey his every command, which right now is to replace his dead insects.

Galt finished resting; They could never rest for long, for dragonflies heal quickly, especially divine ones. Realising that They could be more well-equipped, They darted to Their asteroid belt, gathering up almost all of the spinning gemstones, and towed them back to the Refuge.

Let's rock.

Galt bring most of the soulasteroids back to the Refuge, and wait. (forsaken can choose whether or not I picked up the one with the Cthulian Tooth Lobster)

More than a little perturbed by the change in setting, Màquines quickly shifted back to a more human appearance and nervously bowed her head to the elder god. "I do seem to be one of the new gods here, yes. You are Dragnar, correct?"

It seems that my kin have launched a skirmish against the Anathema's minions. The Voidwalker reclined on his throne. It stroked its chin with its hand, its twin glowering orbs flaring. Foolish. Still... It mused, its fingers turning the pages of its tome. Ah. Here it is. If the God Of That Which Should Not Be Known could, it would have smiled. It chanted, intoning the correct words and magical commands. A bolt of pure energy came into being above a tightly clustered groups of frigates, and blasted them from existence. The ships, their creators dead, phased out of existence. The Chained God eased itself into its throne once more, and continued to hurl magic at the ships.

<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>

In the void above the sundered world, the Reaver danced in the darkness. The flashes of light from the ship's weapons created plenty of gates for the beast of shadow to ravage its enemies. It shrieked with joy as it tore into the foes that its god told it to destroy.

The Chained God attacks several frigates, destroying them and continues a barrage of fire onto the other ships. The Reaver dances across the void, attacking ships here and there.

"Yes, I am Dragnar. No need for any formality, this is just a library like any other. It is simply a bit more thorough than most..."

Dragnar suddenly turns toward the map in the center of the entrance hall, noticing movement on a much larger scale than usual.

"Ah, what's this? It seems the battle has been joined between Astra'ath and the others. Unfortunate, but inevitable. This will at the very least be interesting I suppose."

The first prototypes had been finished. Most of the ships strictly followed frandors shematics, but some ships were altered on Gheronatons behalf.

Most of the ships were quite simply and of medium size; They were capable of transporting a dozen warrios, their equipment and the crew. The crew consisted of Ironborn, who constantly monitored the countless computers at work. The ships were quite good armoured and also were aptly armed with so called "plasma guns", though most of their weapons consisted of armor breaking kinetic weapons. The ships were powered with strange generators, also utilizing plasma, but if truth be told wholly gheronaton didn`t understand it. His Ironborn, however, did good enough.

Some of the ships were much bigger, and armored in layers of different metals and composite metals. They weren`t armed as good as the smaller ones, but were able to withstand much more damage and could transport up to a hundred soldiers. More, they could launch so called "Drop pods" capsules which could contain up to ten soldiers und which could be dropped from the orbit onto planets; Those drop pods had their own engines and were designed to safely deliever soldiers to foreign worlds. The pods were quite good armored and even armed with machineguns, which could be used by the crew inside, thus the drop pods could be used as makeshift forts upon landing.

But there were even larger ships, none of which had been completed yet.. But they would be, soon.
