FPS counter?

Is there an option for the FPS counter?
It will be handy if I know how slow the game suffers from a certain number of population,so that I would know when I should curb my population.

Yeah, it'd be nice to see firsthand what kind of system requirements the game has so you don't try running it on a 500 Mhz machine.
