That reminds me, Corpses buried: 0/1
I need to get to work on that. I have the coffin, just not the space...

You don't have a single tile of free space?

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 30th of Timber, 1502.

Make that thirteen unicorns. Stupid things keep running into the cage traps!
On a related note, that is, brainless animals, I wonder if it's possible to tame the undead? Or should I just save this skeletal goat for when we have an arena?

I accidentally left a way into the fortress that wasn't trapped, so now we have to deal with Kobolds and Snatchers. :(

The traders brought only six items

but no gold nuggets, unfortunately. I thought they liked us! Is it because I'm totally ignoring what those authority figures wanted me to do? Or do these dwarves support our original goals and are angry that I'm not building a death trap right now? I'm probably over-thinking it. In any event, I gifted that old beggar a nice goat bone earring.

We might not need those nuggets, though, 'cause I found a nice vein when I was digging out the barracks earlier.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now they're asking me what I want, but I've lost confidence that they'll bring anything, so I'll ask for cut gems, platinum blocks, ect.

Any requests?

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 1st of Opal, 1502.

Okay, what?
First they kick us out, nominally for causing that... "Incident," and now we're recognized as a real colony? Not to mention the (King's consort/)Queen's little plot, why would she allow the King to find out about this place? Whatever. I accept, and I nominate...

The most useless person here. Of course. Seriously, she does nothing useful already, why not make it official?

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 17th of Obsidian, 1502.
I dug out the new Baroness' quarters today, far above and away from mine.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I made Onul Kivishzat the second butcher, since the animals are reproducing far, far too quickly for Black-Hat to keep up with.

Another herd of Unicorns showed up, I wonder how many we'll get this time?

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 26th of Obsidian, 1502.
The Baroness gave out a mandate today, but I'm certainly not doing it.
No rose gold items for you, useless noble!

You may be wondering why I hate Ilral so much. It's not just because she's the product of a system that glorifies uselessness. It's also because she killed a unicorn. It didn't die right away, though, like the butchers would have killed it, it limped around, wounded, and completely screwed up the wood gathering/manufacturing process. HATE.

In other news, we caught our first prisoner!

This goblin scum was trying to steal our children. What shall we do with him?

CHOP it into little bite sized chunks.

Dammit, i was just going to recommend upgrading to a better one. Base-quality steel is good, but exceptional steel is a thing of terrible majesty.

Well, he's now a High-master Axedwarf, and all the current challengers go down in about one CHOP. Oh well.

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 28th of Granite, 1503.
Just caught two more goblin snatchers. I put their cages in the militia's training room, and tried to have them open the cage, but all they did was move the goblins to another cage. What's up with that?

Work on the golden balcony proceeds well.

Today, some migrants arrived, after a long drought. I guess word of our promotion to a barony got around?

(Two dwarves I somehow missed making an entry of:)

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 1st of Felsite, 1503.

Okay, I haven't seen any wild beasts in the underground, I guess it's fairly safe...
Hey, I see some webs down there! We can turn them into silk. I'll get to work on an area for the weavers.

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 24th of Felsite, 1503.
It's an ambush!

Two, in fact. Both with bow-goblins, fun!
Derm was away from the fight for the most dangerous part of the battle, the beginning, but as soon as he showed up the goblins fled.

Death toll (Note: Sodel was already dead):

Also, some goblins.

In the midst of all this, the elven traders sauntered in.

Unicorn count: 17

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 7th of Hematite, 1503.
Today, I traded with the elves. I'm beginning to see why the diplomat hates them so much. They took every opportunity to take advantage of my generosity, but I still got some worthwhile items from them.

Items bought:
Animals:
Bilou: 4
White-Browed Gibbon: 3
Black-Crested Gibbon: 5
Elephant: 3
Jaguar: 1
Gorilla: 4
Bonobo: 4
Silvery Gibbon: 1
White-Handed Gibbon: 4
Leopard: 2
Warthog: 6
Cougar: 4
Black-Handed Gibbon: 1
Mandrill: 3
Siamang: 1

Then some wooden weapons for traps...Some dye...Some sunshine...and some cloth.

In other news, the balcony is halfway done!

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 1st of Galena, 1503.
Ugh, the outside is a nightmare. Goblin attacks, skeletal marmots. I'm thinking that I'm not going to cut any more wood outside.
What's worse are the living hoary marmots friggin' monkeys. They keep stealing our spoils of war!

NOT COOL.

Meanwhile, Fita's been acting a little strange, lately...

Wait wait wait.
Wait.
This seems familiar...

I KNEW IT!
Is this a ghost, or something, possessing our workers and producing works of sublime beauty? Can't be one of ours. They weren't talented at all. Perhaps it's one of the demons the General warned me about?
If so, I don't object at all!

Fita has produced a crown more valuable than a dwarf can comprehend. For now, let us pretend it is worth 13200 DB.

The following is an excerpt from Ziril Kuletatol's life, 18th of Galena, 1503.
First we were attacked by goblins, again, and now this.

Why is there a demon diplomat here? What's more, it's working for the humans?!
Spoiler: Sog, the Law-Giver (click to show/hide)

Mafol and Dodok were killed in the ambush.
