How so? It seems fairly rational to me. The reasoning goes: When you weren't getting laid before, that didn't make you sad. Thus, when you're not getting laid now, that shouldn't make you sad either, unless something significant has changed.

But it was a joke so it's really a moot point.
The point is, your relationships failed spectacularly. So what? You have a brief period of mourning, then you move on and do something else. Either way, the risks outweigh the rewards, especially considering that even a bad relationship is good until it ends (otherwise, presumably, you would end it).

I don't find sex to be the whole of my relationships. Its there, and treated like mutually fun activity. When I see that of my friends, I see the relationship as shallow, and they all ended roughly.

I'm still friends with most of my past girlfriends, those that I'm not friends with is that we grown apart and unto different things.
