All my little goblin friends

I may have settled a little too close to the goblins.

For most of the year there are always at least 3 ambushes hanging around waiting to try and kill the trade caravans. This years spring had 6 ambushes. So that's 7 per ambush making a total of 42 units. I'm nearing a 150 deceased units with most of them being goblins.

I haven't had any elves make it all the way to my fortress in like 4 years, and that would be fine if they didn't leave all that wooden crap laying around on the map.

And for the love of armok I'm drowning in prisoners of war. I have no idea what to do with all of them. Any ideas?

Dump them in a pit, cover pit with grates. Fill pit with water. Laugh.
Make execution tower, some 10+ z-levels high. Throw them off top. Laugh. Clean up corpses.
Throw them into underground via a hole in the ground. Watch them get torn apart by the underworld's denizens. Laugh.

Dig a 1 tile stairway with a hole next to it directly to the magma sea, dump prisoners, laugh while watching them plummet to their fiery doom.

The room will take some work setting up but with the last of this round of goblins leaving it looks like I'm at a total of 21 goblins, 2 humans, and an ettin I caught a while ago. For now anyways, if more come before I finish they will be added in.

I'm building a bridge repeater designed to filter a pile of hostile invaders down onto one tile.  I think I'm going to try and use the elves' old wooden weapons and a weapon trap to make a blood waterfall.  I figure 1 wooden whip or sword, and a goblin should generate blood for a month at least.

....They just refuse to stay down unless butchered, in which case their skins will haunt you until you subdue and tan them. Never has legendary butcher and legendary tanner seemed so valueable as in this release.
