I'd deafinitely sign up. I would also advise waiting for the merge, but if we start up with this version i'm game for it. Worse comes to worse we can continue to use this version as it is totally functional.

edit: Also I see no problem with 2x2  because that is still a huge ammount of land.

Totally functional... maybe in a serene biome where you would need no army ever. But terrifying? I don't think it can really be done in this version. And traps are a copout.

I had a terrible time in 31.01 with zombies, but I thought they had been made dealable with, so long as you arn't punching them.

Yeah, they are killable (there's a placeholder hitpoint system now). The problem is with managing the military. Equipment, training, teaching... everything but the most basic commands is either bugged or so complicated that nobody actually knows how to use it.

The only problem with the military I see is buggy training, and there is an easy workaround for that. Everything else works fine.
Oh, an the crossbows arent functional.

The real problem are stupid unkillable fb's and somehow I dont think they will be fixed in the new version.

The only unkillable FB's are blobs. Everything else can have its head/upper body/lower body forcibly removed for an instant kill.

Blobs, however, are generally only killable by cave-in and carboniting.

I think the FB'S being unkillable using only the military is supposed to make you invent new, unconventional means of killing them. Magma, water, or the combination of both and various ways to deliver them to the FB in question while damaging your fort as little as possible can potentially create endless hours of creative fun!

Maybe, but as it stands now, they pretty much just deny you the caverns until you drop a cave-in on them or something. I mean they arent even bent on attacking your fort, they just wander around in the caverns messing with your workers and military, and can grind a fort to a halt when everyone fights them or gets scared and spams cancellation. There is a workaround for that, but its still poorly implemented.

I like the new military interface. Took me a while to figure it out, but it seems useful if poorly documented.

I dont like the interface, its pretty impenetrable, but the new system is very powerfull. Its a lot better than the previous one.
