Code: [Select]

creature_schil

[OBJECT:CREATURE]

[CREATURE:DAWG]
[DESCRIPTION:An animal very similar to the common domestic dog, but with higher intellect and occasionally interesting perculiarities.]
...

[OBJECT:INORGANIC]

Can I do that?

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Try it, see if it works. I haven't tried, so I can't tell. If I were to guess, it won't work.

I did. I don't think it works. Oddly, the last caste of "dawg" is called "smelt meroviate ore" in game, which is a smelter reaction at the bottom of the file.

Used to be able to, but now I think the first part of <object>_large_tundra.txt et al  has to match what's actually in there. A bit of an annoyance if you want to make a very compact mod, but there you go

Used to be able to
As in how long ago?
It's been like this since at least when the z-axis was introduced.

Are you sure? I'm pretty certain I remember seeing some mods that combined a few types of object into one file. Although whether or not they worked is a different question...

Several types of object is actually fine, as long it's the same supertype. ITEM_anythings can be clustered together, for example, as well as MATGLOSS_anythings (or, INORGANIC_anythings, as the case would be in the new version). I don't remember that several different OBJECT:SOMETHING tags could work in any version. That is to say, I never saw or heard anyone say they did.
