Hah, our topic has been edited and the rant/responses concerning Huesoo were blanked. Confused me quite a bit trying to find my place.

So if one of only two non-liberal-elites (Or at least not liberal elite enough for them) got chased off, it's not much of a discussion is it?  It's more of a circle-jerk.

Cthulhu, please don't turn this into a "bash the people I disagree with or simply don't understand by calling them elitist" thread.

Ioric, please don't start an argument by responding negatively to a post you dislike when anyone else who disagreed was willing to look it over. It's a much more mature and healthy response.
You get in a lot of arguments, if you haven't noticed.

Well, allot of people disagree with me or don't understand what my points no matter how many ways I explain them.   They don't have to respond.

So what?  Should I stop holding my opinions out of fear that someone will disagree with them?

Never keep your opinions to yourself!
Let them be free.
That's my opinion anyway.

You could stop trying to fight about them at the drop of a hat.  Especially like the Cthulhu thing, where there wasn't an argument or anything to argue about being discussed, and you flew off in a Pavlovian response to the word "liberal".

Probably a bad idea, but we should poll the political views of B12ers.
Anonymously, of course.

I was hoping that Aqizzar would find a way to explain it better than I. And here it is.

I nuked most of the derail/side discussion relating to Huesoo in an effort to keep the thread stable for the people that made it, since we were getting into giant image territory.  I'm sure he saw what he needed to see, including his new 15 day mute.  This is the second time he hasn't let a moderated issue sit, coming back to insult the other party, etc.

7 new replies...  okay, if people want to discuss the other issues, we can discuss them, one by one.

The Architect:  two mutes, one for arguing in a bunch of threads simultaneously and telling people to go ahead and "tattle with the moderator button" after calling someone a "dick" a few days prior, and one for calling people "retards" and "sheepeople" after starting a fight in another thread 2 weeks prior.  Whatever he was talking about regarding a console thread or whatever was the tip of the iceberg.  I don't even have that part noted down.  There were several active threads which might explain why people thought the mute was unjust.  I don't think it was.

Mishy:  The mute was active for about 3.5 days, not 6-8.  I have to remove them manually, so they go over sometimes, but I have the timestamps here.

Ioric:  Your warning was also for your thread derail, starting with your mention of the "porno mode", which you should have known would sink the thread.  And your so-called joke was out of line.  We read the entire thread, and I don't think it was an uninformed decision.

Ah. Calling someone a retard is enough to warrant a mute, always. I'm surprised people keep forgetting this.

And the court makes its opinion known.  Clarity.

Probably a bad idea, but we should poll the political views of B12ers.
Anonymously, of course.

Can you have a poll without people being able to post in it?  Because otherwise, bad idea.  Besides, I'm pretty sure everyone down in the lower forum who would notice, and have political views they care to talk about, have already made them abundantly clear.

A poll thread on people's political views here would only cause drama/thread lock/mutes or a gigantic argument ala the atheism thread. All of which waste Toady and threetoe's time they could spend doing other things, like Enjoying their life Bugfixing

Thanks for taking the time to explain it Toady.

EDIT: Well we could always have a sanctioned "Big Damn Flamewar" Thread that had some other person appointed to moderate it and report any infractions that would actually endanger the rest of the site directly to Toady/Threetoe.  That way they'd only get the things that demanded their immediate attention and people could still pointlessly bash each other to their hearts' content.

He didn't.  I called them elitist (y'know, Elite Liberal, reference to Liberal Crime Squad?) because that's exactly what they were, over at that other forum I was talking about.  You might want to uncock that hair-trigger.

Sorry, Cthulhu is just very heavily conservative in his views so any time he says "liberal" or "elitist" I cringe at the though of how he may be misusing the terms.

That's understandable, but it really makes it even worse when you say that your motivation is prejudice from past threads.
