I thought something was missing. I've only just realized that there are no ratmen in the latest version of DF. I can't think of any reason for them not to be in and  don't remember hearing about this before either.  did a quick search for ratmen on the forums but there was nothing forthcoming.

I've always felt that ratmen had a certain unique charm about them so i kinda miss them. And while it should be fairly trivial to mod them back into my game i really want them back in vanilla DF.

Yeah, me too. I liked them because there were Ratmen in Majesty and I really liked that game, and in the expansion the Ratmen were at war against the Goblins and I always tried to help the Ratmen, because they liked to live in my sewers, so I sort of considered them my people, even though they didn't pay taxes and tended to commit a lot of crimes.

There're ratmen in genesis mod, and they use a graphic set I've made so you can use them as a playable race if you want (because they have profession tiles) .

There is no such thing as "Rat Men". They are a myth created by heretics to lead people astray.  They certainly do no have an extensive network of tunnels underneath the Empire and they most certainly do not create crystalized chaos warpstones.

Because theres more than one type of amphibian-men (aside from Olmmen which get their own species for some reason), just like lizardmen are now reptilemen.

Actually their description directly states that they look like frogs. 'Amphibianman' sounds a lot more sinister than 'frogman' though.

Too bad they kinda messed them up for the sequel...
