So I've played 12 years on this fortress, and I've decided to generate a new one. How should I destroy this one best? Lava won't cover everything due to my mismanagement of the tube earlier (I almost had to relocate my forges, but saved the magma level just in time), and permaflood from the brook seems so :last-version".

Halp me, and be creatave.

Get this.

Dig a huge hole many (10 Z levels above, if you cant get that many, compromise) levels  DIRECTLY above a demon pit, cover the top with floors, put an anvil stockpile on the floors, and then link all the floors to a lever ON THE FLOORS, pull the lever, and watch the carnage and hilarity ensue.

draft them all into military and let them sparr.  should thin down the numbers in no time.  The few left can be dealt with in other ways if you don't want to just rely on hunger.

Permaflood from the magma?

I hear booze explodes if it's exposed to fire. You could use magma to set some coal on fire, then have it hauled into your booze stockpile.

If you've got a stream or larger, you could just set everyone to fish and wait a while.

Mine out all the walls, then start a gigantic cave-in.

Build a huge platform in the sky, draft everyone, station them up there, then collapse it.

Ooh! Even better! Use a series of giant drawbridges to throw everyone off a cliff!

Build an automated spike raising/lowering mechanism with floodgate logic gates, and scatter spikes throughout the fortress. Watch your dwarves get randomly impaled as they go about their business.

I made a medium-sized cave-in that fell only one floor, and killed only three dwarves. However, the second one I made of the same size resulted in the following:

Funnel magma into it for better effect. You did place booze piles randompy through your fort to stop them from running all the way to the dining area, right?

Except as far as I understood it he was not opposing anyone in any discussion, he just forgot the smiley.

Aw, someone called Godwin already.  Anyway.

Make a stockpile of booze in a line, and have it wind through all the corridors and main rooms of your fortress.  (Think dousing a building with gasoline before lighting the match.)  Once it's done, make a magma channel that leads to the end of the line.

Or, dig out the entire z-level below your fortress except for a single constructed support.  Link the support to a pressure plate and set it to be triggered by your dwarves.  Put it in the bedroom of your favorite noble or other dwarven persona.
