Some people thinks its horrible, some think its funny.

No, I just think it's odd that both sides have the EXACT same number of votes.

What's wrong with a druggy getting arrested?

I thought that was how it was meant to work.

We have about the same # of people on each side, what so odd about that?

They got that poor guy arrested. Fuck these kids.

What's wrong with a druggy getting arrested?
He wasn't hurting anybody. He was chasing a light around in the street.

Well, first off, it's the exactly same amount, and it's been so ever since the second page ( despite the fact the number of votes have been going up on both sides ). So, yeah, that's why it's odd. Just the way the votes are falling.

He wasn't hurting anybody. He was chasing a light around in the street.

If you're this out of your head, and wandering the streets, there's a good chance you'll inadvertently hurt someone or be hurt in turn.

Also, why should he not be helped by the police?

I found it hilarious.  I laughed until I cried and my gut hurt.   Then he caught the thing and did his little victory jig, and I laughed even harder.

Yes, the people filming were dicks.  I'm not saying I like them.  Heck, that kind of person tends to disgust and repulse me in general.

However, I still thought that using a little laser pointer to completely freak out some whacked-out dude was absolutely friggin' GOLD.  The lamp post was a bit of a cheap shot, and I hope the guy didn't get hurt from it, but considering he ran into the same pole twice I can only assume that he wasn't really using that part of his anatomy anyways.

I felt sorry for him getting arrested, but I also feel that it was probably for the best overall.  And, in any case, why would the cops have arrested him if they didn't have a good reason?  They're not going to cuff you and shove you into the back of a cruiser for yelling on a street (unless you've ignored previous warnings or something), so there must have been some other explanation for why they took him for a ride.  And yeah, he might end up in a rehab program because of it.  There's always the question as to how effective that program might be, but at least it's something.

Then again...  I also felt sorry for him when the dot reappeared after he thought he'd finally managed to catch the sucker.  He was just too cute.

Assuming he is indeed high on 'crack', Illegal Drugs....what part of that is in any way ambiguous??

Even if he was simply drunk, the police have an obligation to at least check on the man. If in such a state as to be incapable of taking care of themselves safely, I'd argue they have at least a civil obligation to see them safely home or to a cell to sober up (depending on situation this can easily be ignored and justified out of possible actions). I know of a few cases where a person left a friend's house drunk, and members of the police found them and gave them a lift home.

And if the person is on illegal drugs, then they have a legal obligation to, and should do everything in the legal power to bring them down to the prison cell.

We will just have to disagree on it then, becuase I sure as hell dont think getting a poor guy arrested is doing him any favors. Think whatever you want.

I don't think arresting a shoplifter is doing the shoplifter favours. It's doing the rest of society favours. What's your point?

Morality isn't black and white. The law, however, is considerably more so.

So you'd rather have some drug-addled junkie out on the street, where he can do harm to himself or others?

I would rather have that junkie on the street then those kids.

Like I said we will just have to disagree. We will get no where arguing about this particular subject. Trust me.

Why?

Because you'd rather see a potentially dangerous criminal on the streets than pranksters.

As much as I hate it in general, Cow, they are right. If he's off his head on drugs then he needs to be picked up by the cops before he does harm.
