Bronze Colossus - How to make it less invincible?

Pardon my insolence.

The following happened in 0.31.03:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Is there a clever way to edit the raw file (BC is found in creature_standard.txt) to make the BC killable with other methods besides MAGMA and MAGMA SABERS? In a somewhat believable way. Especially considering adventure mode.

add a gem-heart body part or a vital gas blood inside them as described in the community balance mod topic and/or in the other colossus topics.

Basically, there are very few ways to actually kill something in this version of the game.  Since the bronze colossus has so few organs, and no blood, the ONLY way to kill it is to remove its head or upper torso.  Even more unfortunately, it's apparently impossible to do this with standard weapons, and it would require a specially modded material or HFS two-handed sword on a very strong adventurer to even have a chance of applying enough force to behead a bronze collosus in one swing, because in 31.01, if you don't kill in one hit, your attack was completely pointless, as damage is not cumulative.

Probably the best way to add some notion of "hit points" to a bronze collosus is to add something like blood or a (siliceous?) nervous system that can be damaged until bronze collosi are actually capable of being killed.  Of course, blood would require a non-blunt attack to even cause any kind of bleeding.

edit: ninja'd...

make a race of molten-rock colossus to counter the BC or just make them civ friendly which would kill their urges to wreck you.
try melting them with water super heated by magma ventilation you can also after that harvest the bronze off the floor.

Ahem, what? You cannot MELT a BRONZE with WATER.

Water has 100* boiling temperature. Consult your electrical teapot :P.

Bases on the 'acid rain' phenomenon, I think.

your right but with the dwarven boiling water exploit one could melt an bronze by the heat of magma...(ninja)
unless inorganic skin can take heats of magma with out melting. then your better off dipping him in water to freeze with walls made of permaice.

Bronze Colossi do not have fat, so the acid rain won't melt them.

Even if it did, it wouldn't kill it, because the melting wouldn't make it bleed to death.

Well, the weaksauce way is to give them internal organs, sort of like a bronze-skinned manimal.

or add a gas based blood to let piercing/slashing weapons have a chance to make it bleed so it'll die carefully. think of it as magical essence if you want to keep lore or something. colossi are technically hollow already/anyways. clockwork heart would need gear "bones" to make it sound more real.

I don't think a titan or megabeast should never be a one-hit kill.  I mean, come on.  Blood would mean an inevitable death and a place where a dwarf can stab once and instantly strike it down would be kind of a joke, right?

I know I've suggested this before, but what if there are body parts that need to be mangled or lopped off before reaching a core that can then be destroyed?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It removes the problem of the fabled titan/megabeast becoming a pushover with a single stab to whatever being a kill hit, but also makes it vulnerable while keeping its endurance intact and doesn't make it vulnerable to taking a couple slashing hits and bleeding out after a while.
