So I was just watching CNN today and Anderson Cooper had this story about how this new york based Islamic extremist terrorist supporting website MuslimRevolution.com posted a "warning" to the creators of south park for their recent 200th episode where every celebrity the town of south park has ever offended comes back and threatens to sue them into oblivion if they don't get them the prophet Mohamed. They get him, but hide him first in a U-Haul truck and then in a bear suit because because you can't show an image of the prophet Mohamed lest deranged Islamic extremists murder you for daring to to break this particular tenet of
their religion.
Anyway, in the warning it was stated that Trey and Matt should not have done what they did because it will probably result in violence being perpetrated against them, though worded in a more threatening way. It was not of course an actual threat of violence. Just a warning that violence would probably occur, and information on the addresses of their residences and work places with urgings to go there and "protest". Because they are not technically inciting the use of violence, despite their support for it, including the destruction of the world trade center and the murders of everyone who died there, they are protected under the first amendment of the united states constitution. In other words, their first amendment rights protect their veiled infringement upon others' first amendment rights.
By the way, don't go to that site. It's apparently been repeated DOSed and hacked to be covered with pornographic images of Mohamed.
Anyway, I thought this was somewhat interesting. With all the talk about fighting terrorism I think we tend to overlook one important point. These people are
terrorists. Their goal is to promote their agenda through
fear, either by violence or threat of violence. And like the troll feeds on the attention garnered by his retarded commends, the terrorist feeds on the fear they cause with their actions. Any concession made makes them feel powerful, gives them strength.
There's also another problem. People are god damned idiots who don't know who there enemy is. They watch Faux news and see the rants about Muslim this and Muslim that, and start freaking out about all Muslims. This plays right into the terrorists' hands. From what I can see these psychopaths (at least the ones who aren't just completely without any convictions or moral code) want nothing less than world domination. A world dominated by their particular brand of Islam. They paint this as a Jihad, a defense of Islam itself against it's oppressors, and when Fox and other sensationalist media outlets start convincing people that Islam itself is out to get them, they get exactly what they want. People cling desperately to their religions. That's obvious. Killing off religion is just not feasible, because it has a decent number of positive qualities despite all the suffering and hatred it is regularly used to create. What needs to happen though, is for people to stop thinking so simply. This isn't a war on Christianity by Islam. It's an attempt by a group of deranged religious fanatics who just happen to say Alah instead of God to either get rich off the suffering of others, or pull off a mad bid for world domination by making everyone as crazy as they are.
Sorry for the wall of text. That's all I got to say. It's late, and I was frustrated.
(Now if only I could write something like this about Hawaiian Geography, I'd be doing a lot better in my class...
