Move north 1. Assault drill the kiwi to my left, fire all plasma whatevers at the one to my north.

Also, in the name of getting a sense of the system, why don't you type out all the rolls? Also, is it OK to move, fire, and move again? Or vice versa?

It is perfectly fine to Move, fire, move

As for rolls, could you guys type yours out, and I'll do mine.

Actually, The name refers to the Kiwi bird: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiwi

And Omegastick, I'll handle the pictures. You don't have to upload any if you don't want to.

Turn 2
Omegastick: You hit the kiwi, knocking down it's shields and destroying it's cockpit outright (rolled a 1). The Kiwi has been destroyed

Sensai: You are now beside and very dead Kiwi

Boksi: You fire your first weapon,  but miss (rolled a 12), You fire your autocannon hitting (rolled a 10), hitting it for 6 damage (4,3,4,2=13 \2= 6) knocking out the shields and inflicting 1 armor damage, leaving the kiwi at 11 armor. You then hit with your spike driver (rolled a 5) and hit for 13 damage, taking it to 0 armor points and destroying its cockpit (rolled a 2)

Org: You hit the unshielded kiwi with both missles ( rolled a 1 and a 7), hitting for 17 and 9 damage, 26 total, destroying the mechs generator and causing it to exploded! (rolled a 10), blowing out boksi's shields and hitting him for 1 armor damage. Additionally, this knocks the other Kiwis shields out. Your other missile hits the last kiwi (rolled a 3) and deals 15 damage to it, causing its cockpit to be destroyed.

God dammit, org has crazy luck

Two more Kiwi's and a Titan show up (Titan is the purple dot, plus them poping up is my turn done)

End Turn 2

Fruit was funnier. But I digress...

It's 'roll a d12 vs your skill' right?

6, 6, 3, 7, 8, 9

I've got tens on all relevant skills :|
Should probably get to working on that chargen like I offered to.

I already did your rolls for that turn, (check above your post). Sorry... I thought you wouldn't be able to respond before I finished that round. But you impaled a kiwi!

Hm. It's okay, it's alright, I'm busy trying to work this out. The current system is flawed in its entirety, since one ten gives you max, and three ten percent chances are a lot. For 2d10 the probability chart is as follows:
123456789A
23456789AA
3456789AAA
456789AAAA
56789AAAAA
6789AAAAAA
789AAAAAAA
89AAAAAAAA
9AAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAA

It just gets worse in three dimensions with 3d10, but that's a pain to visualize for you.

EDIT: Chances for a particular stat with your current system are:

1=1(0.18%)
2=5(9.09%)
3=12(2.18%)
4=22(4%)
5=35(6.36%)
6=51(9.27%)
7=70(12.73%)
8=92(16.73%)
9=117(21.27%)
A=145(26.36%)

Total Possibilites=550

I'm not too sure of the accuracy, but it's probably close within a margin of a percent. I'm not too awake right now. This is absolutely useless information, but it was good practice for diving into different systems.

You have  a very good point. After I saw all the tens everyone had been rolling I started to think that a point buying system would be better for pilot generation. You think it would be feasible? say 30 points to spend?

Mmm, something like that. 30 is a decent value. You'd get five 4s and two 5s, or four 2s, one 6 and two 8s. Maybe several different options for setting up characters, depending on how powerful you want them to be? And random rolling, just for fun?

All good ideas. Once this tes run is complete I can begin to iron out some wrinkles, but I may need some assistance (and more test runs) later.

Seems like there's no reason to have more than two weapons skills- given thirty points, I'd minmax to 10 piloting, 10 missiles and 10 lasers.

8 north, 1 west. Spin drill for fun (no power cost whee!)

I wish I was better at drawing, I've got ideas what these mechs look like...

Hey, we're still working on this game. What about allowing only one skill to go to ten and having the minimum skill be one?

Also, I've got my own ideas, which I might even draw if I could just find my tablet. Or even without it, I've got MS Pain after all.

But in any case, I'm gonna stay back and charge mah shields. You guys are tougher than me, I dun wanna be keeld by titanic heavy close-range weapons.
