If I could do scripting I would give it a shot

But unfortunately I don't have the knack for it and probably never will.

RPGMaker is complicated enough with its variables.

I'd be up for scripting it if someone else had a story they wanted to write. It looks totally manageable to code, I just don't have the time to put into actually making a good story, so if someone else was covering that part, I'd be set.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I guess I can come up with something even if it won't be too interesting.

The scripting of this is ridiculously easy. I have no experience in any form of scripting, programming, or computer science, and I've already created a full introductory scene where you create your character and whatnot.

Be absolutely sure you guys do this in notepad. I tried to do it in word at first and it broke the formatting and opened all sorts of error messages.

I made my first command into a beamingly happy, ultra-disciplined crew on my first try. I really don't see how you guys managed to get mutineed. In fact, I didn't get a whiff of mutiny the whole time.
Yeah, it's possible. On my first try I promoted Jones (that ingrate!), who promised I will not live to see the light of day (or whatever) and they still didn't mutiny. One other thing I did, was make the lazy bums clean my ship (now, you probably think that option was pointless, but being half-ruskie (IRL I mean) I immediately though it'll be a fun team building exercise (Russian army is notorious for forcing the fresh meat to whitewash birches and "paint the grass green")), which it surprisingly was (+happiness and +discipline, no skill-gain though). I gave the rum guy 10 lashes.

edit: I aslo kant sepll ;)

So has no one yet made any other games?  I can't seem to find any others anywhere.

According to this, someone submitted a game, they just haven't gotten around to finishing the hosted games section of the site yet apparently.

Also, a quick google search for "choicecript game" returned this - a remake of an 80s game called Hammurabi.

BTW, in Broadsides, is there a way to end with the french officer (if you've had a, shall we say, "special friendship")?

I've tried, but I haven't found one.  Of course I've never tried running away from the final battle.
