In my latest game I made the Gaulish captain my lesbian lover.  But even though she lived she was never mentioned in the ending.

Maybe if I convinced her to stay or went with her we could have been together.  But I don't think it would have worked.  We were destined to be enemies and meet on the field of battle only to have me totally kick her ass, and let her live, but somehow still end up not getting the girl in the end.

As one of the heroes of the Royal Navy, you are always in demand. Whenever a choice assignment is available, your name comes up. And if you choose to, you could easily win election to Parliament or gain entree into the highest echelons of Albion's society.

As the years go by, you steadily climb up the naval list. As your seniority increases, you receive promotion in turn to rear admiral, vice admiral, and finally admiral. With each promotion, you receive larger and more important commands, as well as the opportunity for more prize money. In fact, you ultimately reach the degree of importance where you could be appointed one of the Peers of the Admiralty. Depending on how your commands go, you may win yourself a peerage.

On the relatively rare occasions when you are on half-pay, you have a substantial fortune to rely on and live a comfortable life of ease as a country gentlewoman, with an income of better than a thousand pounds a year from your investments.

As a national hero with a very successful naval career, you are an extremely eligible unmarried knight. You can easily make an excellent marriage if you wish, whether pursuing an old flame or courting anew.

There's no way to get past "Barely enough to have an estate" level of wealth without taking patronage as one of your advantages, that I've found. If preventing the mutiny allowed you to take more of the merchant ships or something that might change it, but in my drive for the most useful skills (since I know I can beat down the mutiny always) I generally abandon Leadership, precluding me from preventing it.

i went out of my way to be as blood thirsty and pompous as possible. So i let the two guys at the start die, and used flogging and hanging as my main routes of communication.

ended up rear admiral minus 1 hand (the Gaul cut my hand off before i slew him, probably because my combat skill was 27).

You know, this makes me think.  It'd be cool if there was actually a pirate game with a relatively plausible female lead character.  This game just switches all the sex specific nouns depending on what sex you play and changes some character first names.  I'm just about picturing men in corsets with women in oversized naval uniforms clearly designed to fit someone bigger than them.  It's... weird...  Like one day all the men woke up as women and the women woke up as men... and didn't notice.

I'm thinking about making a Choice of the Goblin. Though it'd be a D&D goblin rather than a DF one. Though... Choice of the Kobold, DF-style, might be an interesting exercise.
