The first time I had a mutiny but on another time I promoted the loyal stupid guy after imprisoning the murder suspects and everything was fine.  I also cleaned the ship and interrogated then flogged Jones.

I made my first command into a beamingly happy, ultra-disciplined crew on my first try. I really don't see how you guys managed to get mutineed. In fact, I didn't get a whiff of mutiny the whole time.

I don't fully remember. I gave the guy who was sleeping on watch twenty lashes (keeping in mind that the usual punishment is DEATH). I promoted Jones (if he mutineed against you, you probably pissed him off earlier). My first order of business was forcing the crew to clean the entire ship. I joked with the crew at one point. I never caught the murderers, though I meant to keep investigating and must have clicked the wrong button or something.

I ended up with at least somewhat high morale with very high discipline (unsure of the exact figure, because it never showed it to me at the end).

EDIT: I'm going to play around with the editor. I'll start with something to do with a spaceship. Maybe we should collaborate and make a Choice of Dwarf Fortress or something similar?

Though, it would look like this:

You have embarked next to a magma pipe. Do you:

- Dig into the Earth
- Cut down some trees
- Fight the fire imps

All three choices lead to "Urist McBantam's cat has just died. He murders the other six dwarves, and then jumps in the magma pit".

I'm trying to remember some specifics.  I also gave the guy 20 lashes after giving him a second chance. I picked the incompetent guy to be lieutenant but he was very loyal to me. I also forced the crew to clean first, I joked with the crew unsuccessfully, and I also didn't catch the murderers. I think I had very high discipline and okay happiness. And I promoted Jones, like I said.

Playing with the editor is a lot of fun. I made a prelude for my spaceship adventure.

No mutiny for me.  I had around 88 leadership and 60ish likeability

Choices

Early on, sided with Jones against Pigot.

Once in command of my own.
Cleaned the ship, sailing.
Slacker got double watch and no rum, 20 lashes.
Joked with the crew(Decreased discipline slightly, but did increase happiness)
Pulled aside a whisperer and questioned him, he refused to disclose anything.  Whipped the others whisperers.(Perhaps they thought the other guy ratted them out?)
Investigated the murder and threatened a hanging, but never did.(Perhaps this scared them to shape up?)
Appointed the intelligent(but lazy) guy as first officer.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

I stabbed him straight through. Even though we were good buddies. Should learn to fight for the right side, imo.

My reasoning was, it'd be easier to get the rest of his crew to surrender if he commanded them to.  Death of a commanding officer might inspire the first officer to press the attack harder.  Plus, dude had my back during the attempted robbery.

In my latest game I made the Gaulish captain my lesbian lover.  But even though she lived she was never mentioned in the ending.
