Forum move/upgrade
« on: April 20, 2010, 12:13:02 pm »

I assume I've screwed this up in some horrible way, since it includes a server move, configuring all sorts of linux stuff for the first time, a forum move and a forum upgrade.  Thanks to Baughn and Janus for their help!

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Woah, different looks to things. This'll take a little getting used to. But yeah, good stability so far. Now we wait for the posting features to return.

Okay, this is new.

Things do look rather different. Subtle changes to certain things, but most notably the smileys.

I like a couple of the new features though (expandable posting window). Should make any large postings much easier to handle.

:looks at sig:

Heh, glow works as it's displayed in the icons.

EDIT:
Updated my megaproject page so it looks right.

Janus found the fix for that instance of the Bad Gateway.  Apparently 30 php processes is better than 1.

I noticed the glow works differently now.  GLOW

edit: Janus made the old forum theme and sent an updated version.  Do you mean the one with the blue "news" instead of the darker "news"?  I don't remember if we were going to have a vote on which darkling people liked better or what...  first, we must survive full traffic!

@Foot: We've still got Darkling, just a slightly different version.

Here's hoping it runs more smoothly now without the "bad gateway" errors.

SMF 2.0 RC3 has a new default smiley set which you're seeing. It's configurable, though.

The "someone else has posted so you might want to revise yours" notice looks off? Let me see... Hmm, looks OK to me. Red on a pale red (thus pinkish) background. I can probably revise any theme-related issues and pass the fix on to Toady, though.

EDIT:
I already notice the post "preview" background color is slightly off from what it should be; I'll see about that.
