From the diary of Ziril Gusgashsigun, 10th of Felsite.

We were too ambitious. And now it's everywhere. Choking us! If only this could have been avoided...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I've drawn up some plans. Hopefully with will give us more room to breathe, literally. *cough*

Spoiler: Plans (click to show/hide)

Morale is down in other areas as well, people are demanding chairs, and beds. Whiners.

In other news, both Derek and Skuld have some actual work to do, instead of just hauling things around!

I'm not letting Skuld touch the silver nuggets just yet, I don't think she has enough experience. And on top of that there's the issue of letting other people know not to use them!

(I'll put you on the waiting list! In the meantime, you can use your imaaaa~gination about what's going on in the mountainhomes, and just what is that awesome general's goal here? :D)

You can go to the stone screen and forbid the use of silver.

Or you can go to the stock screen and regularly forbid any silver nuggets.

The problem is, how do I make it so that ONLY YOU can use silver nuggets? I have a plan, it'll just be a while in the making.

Does the plan involve separate stockpiles, one with silver nuggets (it could also be quantum stockpile) and the other everything else, and the workshops by the silver nugget stockpile are only allowed for Skuld, while the rest is forbidden for her? That's the best thing I can think of, while the other would be to micromanage the hell out of trinket making.

I was thinking
Step 1: Build a living space for Skuld that has food and booze stockpiled
Step 2: In that living space, build a workshop
Step 3: Get a book keeper
Step 4: Dump all the silver nuggets into one square in Skuld's living space
Step 5: Lock her in
Step 6: ? ? ?
Step 7: Profit!

She locks herself in with all the silver nuggets to make sure that only she will handle the precious shiny stone. She does also like bismuthinite, but that is a bit more obscure ore, but she would be ecstatic to see that as well.

Just remember to let her out once in a while to socialize, or when they've run out of silver nuggets, she won't really get happy thoughts from food or drink as she does not have any favorite food or drink.

The plans look pretty impressive. And apparently I'm in love. Interesting.

From the diary of Ziril Gusgashsigun, 18th of Hematite, 1051.
Summer already? Time flies when you're stuck still moving all this worthless stuff into the fort. I wish I could get those friggin mules to help out, but they keep slipping their harnesses off to go frolic.

At least I'm getting some work done.

I set up doors around the ranch so that the animals won't get out and start messing everything up.

Skuld changed her clothes, for some reason. I guess she got tired of wearing white?

Still haven't seen any animals, not even a rat...

From the diary of Ziril Gusgashsigun, 26th of Hematite, 1051.
People are such whiners!
"I had to sleep in the dirt"
"There aren't any chairs"
"Why can't we use the animals to haul our stuff in?"
I've decided to work on (some) of these problems.

But before that, I made a statue!

I honestly can't remember what I was trying to carve.
Perhaps our military leaders, Derek and Johann?
Nah, I probably just decided to make a statue of me and Mekboy. <3
In any case, where should I put it?

A tale
Once upon a time there lived a humble weaver, who married a young bonecarver.
They were very happy together, until that bonecarver was attacked.
The offender was Icithi Bristlesculpts the Spit of Apogees the hydra, who had toyed with his civilization for many centuries.
He fought valiantly against the hydra, but was, in the end defeated.
But his tale does not end there.
For reasons unknown, the Hydra did not kill the bonecarver.
The next year, he had a daughter. He named her Mafol.

From the diary of Ziril Gusgashsigun, 1st of Galena, 1051.

On the level below Black-Hat's pasture, I designated a dining hall that can hold 96 dwarves.Ambitious, I know, but we already have the first migrants arriving, even though they're actually just two guys who are really, really lost. It's better than nothing, since I'm still not sure that this is an actual, valid mission and not just a death sentence.

I still haven't seen any animals.

Hey, could you post the info on our gods, we might want to build temples to them some time in the future.

Good idea!

Worship List
Urdim Bronzeoils, deity: mountains, caverns, earth
  Tobul, deity: jewels, wealth, trade
  Inod, deity: fortresses, war
Geshud the Fenced Dignity, deity: laws, justice
  Ibmat, deity: light, rainbows

Johann Schidtt and Derek worship Urdim Bronzeoils
Magia and Skuld worship Geshud the Fenced Dignity
Ziril and Mekboy worship Tobul
Black-Hat worships Ibmat

Also, a large percentage of the mountain homes worship various hydras and dragons that have attacked. The one that is most ardently worshiped is Icithi Bristlesculpts the Spit of Apogees the hydra.

From the diary of Ziril Gusgashsigun, 16th of Galena, 1051.

Today is truly a cause for celebration. From the cold stone of this lifeless locale, has sprung a single work of
genius.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We must nurture this genius! Quick, Mekboy! Wall off that open space!

I'll carve some furniture, and for the love of Tobul find Derek and tell him to make more beds!
