Let's take the Foot and Alps with our armies, and convince Carthage to poke the Sweboz with a stick. We'll be on hand to sweep up what's left.

This, But also try to find some powerful allies. (We can deal with them later, Hehehe.)

Machiavelli says we should try to ally ourselves with the weaker armies, and try to weaken the stronger ones, so they can't overthrow us.

Oh wow, I'm even more glad I picked Romani. Just off of a siege as them, the town on the back of the foot (can't remember the name). The battle was basically even. Two things I learned; Triarii are brutal, I bet the only thing that can beat them is numbers. And Hastati are quite strong despite being medium infantry.

Yes, I did win.

Maybe Triarii can be beaten by less Triarii, but with archers in the back? Or a strong diversified army that attacks them on many fronts - some Triarii fight them, archers rain death on them, cavalry charge them from behind or the flanks...

No fleet. They cost too much money. Expand north, but only in the rebel settlements.

Then take sicily and then north africa.

Just learned; The alps will require both or even more armies (at least for me). The foot on the other hand, it only needs one (just remember to retrain them after each battle).

I agree with securing italy. Perhaps expansion into the non-allied mediterranean would be wise. Cutting off carthaginian growth before we (eventually) kill them strikes me as a good idea.

I experienced a few embarassing defeats at the hands of the barbarians, and hoped no one would remember. If there's any real demand, I'll carry it on.

Your not playing on VH battle difficulty right? The EB devs don't recommend that as it unbalances all their hard work.

How does EB balance the horrificness of the AI? IIRC the only way for RTW to pose a slight challenge was by using the Alexander EXE (minorly improved AI) and mainly, by creating scripted scenarios, whereby the AI can be gifted some semblance of actual intelligence.
