Doctor Who - the eleventh one
« on: April 18, 2010, 04:46:46 am »

So. Since I assume everyone but Australia has been watching the new Doctor Who series for a few months now, you lucky bastards, but we've only just got it over here. I think he's quite good. Time will tell if he outdoes David Tennant, but since you guys have, what? Six or seven new episodes? Or something, you probably have already decided. What's your opinion?

Can't you guys get the BBC iPlayer where you are? I know it would take an age to Download but at least you can get all the episodes there, you can also get all the specials with David Tennant

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Eh. Not impressed so far. He's tried to keep some of what Tennant added to the role, when really he should have gone in a completely different direction. Shame he's the second-to last doctor ever (Supposedly).

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

No, I reckon this is the last doctor, my doctor who "bible" told me that. (although i cannot find it at the moment so I can't quote.) The producers will either keep on with different incarnations until he becomes unpopular or they will end it at this series.

I agree he has tried to keep to much of David Tennant but he has done a good job.

Haven't had the time to watch them all yet. Also didn't find out about it until last Friday.

Really, I think the series is just going to keep going. It's just that popular and it's not like they can't get around the '13 regenerations' thing.

I've found my Bible but it will take me a long time to find the quote. Seriously if you want a wealth of Who lore, this is the book. It even tells you what episodes have been lost over the course of time, it is truly amazing although it only goes up till the last episode of the ninth Doctor

The series won't stop.  That whole Library thing basically said the Doctor will meet this woman and do loads of stuff with her, so it can't really end now.

Also, we've had 3 episodes out now.  I haven't watched the third yet, I'll get it from iPlayer.

(iPlayer only works on British computers, but it's pretty easy to get past this restriction with a proxy).

I was able to watch the last half of the episode, I liked him.

However my mum said he wasn't as cute as David Tennant :|

The first Doctor I saw was the guy before David Tennant, so to some extent he is what I view as The Doctor and David is just some hash-in. Moreso with this new guy.

ARG THEY ARE ALL TOO YOUNG.

I want to want to watch this but its too 'family night in' for my liking. That and i HATE David Tenant. He might be hot but, seriously, he only has one face. ONE FACE. All he ever does is that annoying, raised eyebrow, 'shocked' look and its fucking retarded.

I've only seen the first episode, but my snap judgement is that new guy is worse than Tennant, but not as bad as I thought he was going to be. Also, the new companion is brilliant.

i HATE David Tenant.

GET OUT. JUST GO.
