I assume that an introduction should be done
For any practical usage or purpose, I'll be known as Lugash to you. Been lurking around this forum for just about six months now and a recent event finally got me to register.
The event: After a day of misshappenings in the world of gaming I still decided to Embark once more and face the perils of Dwarf Fortress (v. 0.31.03). As I am carving out an acceptable shelter for my chubby minions a uninvited guest shows up... a bloody bronze colossus. After all the constant reading here I am fully aware of how indistructable these gods of war are, so the decision is made: Seal the fortress and search for the very doors of hell itself!
As for the dwarfs outside? Well, no sacrifice, no victory...
Though after a while I notice that a child is hunting for vermins, "hmm, must be an outsider" so I get the idea of checking how the, oh so honorable, guest is doing. I zoom to him, but can't spot him. Repeat action a couple of times. Still no sign of him so i decided to look with the "k" command instead of "v". Now guess what? The wheel-of-death is stuck within a cage. The bronze menace stumble into my my wildlife trap area. I can hardly believe it. I hope that he'll enjoy an eternity in a cage!
So riddle me this, how come that no one ever mentioned this? Is it a to obvious way to handle them or haven't anybody else discoverd this?
Oh, and one more thing. Just after I notice the trapped metal-giant, a hydra feels like passing by... should be possible to trap that one to, right? If so, then I'll be forced to throw them into the arena and we can all enjoy "The clash of the titans"!
