Dwarves are fun. But like
haikus they don't make much sense.
Refrigerator.

Urist McDwarf saw,
Horror on the horizon
No. It can't be, Elves!

Morul, Cacame.
They schemed and planned to get back,
The new version awaits...  (sketchy I know but it works)

I smell burning flesh,
Hear screaming dwarves and magma.
Damn wooden floodgates.

Ice fortress soaring.
High above frozen wasteland.
Magma moat bubbles.

Thank the muppets:

The cat

I saw a kitten one beautiful morn'
skipping silently across the marble floor
And I thought to myself
How wonderful it would be if only we could see
millions of these covering the mountains, the plains and the seas
I put down my axe, and I named the cat Max
And as I did I looked for another cat with which to mate it
I couldn't find one... So I sat down and ate it!

Haiku: (Western variant :P )

Ship sails mighty blue,
but sail not on water, true.
First Bloodfist Haiku.

Meh.

Casting some metals;
Dangerous job. Fires fly out.
Damn that friggin' imp.

Went out to get stuff.
No sun seen; Blood let. No doubt,
Death came from above.

Babbling rivers,
Sparkling lights, shadows beneath...
OH MY GOD, THERE'S CARP!!!

Designated walls;
Behold, the power of cheese,
Engraved into all.

Bronze Colossus beat.
Such feat, not be believed.
Fluffy "Wham!"bler.

You had a fluffy wambler defeat a bronze colossus?

I am quite shocked.
But it shouldn't be mocked.
Our beer is burning!?

In the theme of the fluffy wambler,

morning mist over
thawed ice and a new statue
no longer fearsome

or more subtly,

dawn light thaws the land
bronze shines in murky water
shamed, the fireflies, sleep.

There are many issues with this statement.

Elves won't trade with me.
Gave them something from a tree.
I'm not unhappy.

Mewing bundle
Runs from Crundle

Crundle lunges
Before it plunges

Laying stiff
At foot of cliff

Elkbird attacks
Cat ducks into cracks

Forgotten beast
Seeks a feline feast

Titanic thing
With poisonous sting

Towercaps fall
Beast meets wall

Failed charge
By the monster large

Grusome end
As small claws rend

Resounding thud
Floor coats with blood

Haughty huff
From ball of fluff

Distant cries
As fortress fries

Fire creeps
As thick smoke creeps

Cackling imp
Meets paved floor limp

Beloved kitty
Saviour of dwarven city

Purring bundle
Dines on Crundle

One of my favorites so far

Well-managed fortress
Not a single mistake here.
I have a back entrance?  :o

Awesome thread.  ;D

Ouch, been there. Took me two seasons to get all the goblins out of my tunnels so I could seal the entrance, which turned out to be a diagonal hole I cut while strip-mining a nice magnetite vein.

Crossbows have been made,
see the target on the wall.
Good luck having them train.

Iron used to be good,
now bronze reigns supreme over
all that isn't steel.

Once we feared the clowns,
now the true evil lies in
monsters made of salt.

This site is serene.
Shouldn't have a beast problem.
Dumb fluxing macaques.
