I think the new Military system is going to rock

...eventually anyway.  Just got done playing with it and when it works half-way decently it's gonna make me a very happy fake-dwarf-human-computer person.

Why are you unhappy about that? This game is AWESOME and will only get to be more so in time. The less complete it is, the better!

^  Seriously.  The game right NOW, and once the current build bugs are mostly ironed, is friggin SUPER.  I actually get little happy butterflies sometimes when I play.  Few games do that, EVER.  ENJOY LIFE NOW! (Yes, ironic, lol)

I just like the fact that it's in constant development by the same team, it always has been, and it sure as hell will continue to be.

Until EA decides it can make a profit somehow, buys toady out, then forgets about the Slaves to Armok series.

Don't think it will happen? Look up dungeon keeper 3.

Well, not in the current state. And i dont mean bugs, i mean the concept.
What i hate most about it (aside from bugs, obviously) is that there is no direct way to manage 'the-dorf-under-cursor'. You need to look up him by name.
Sure it gives alot of options, but it removed the one i used most often - draft from 'v'. No squads, no uniforms. Just 'YOU go fight 'em right now!'.

What i would love to see - default limit-less squad which has ALL dorfs in it by default. Call it 'militia'. It should have uniforms, as other squads, and its members should be draftable w/out any additional hassle.
When you want proper army, you assign needed dorfs from militia to actual squads.

I suppose, it's just that i'm thinking about how long it will take to complete...

anyway, the only thing that's bugged me, recently, is that dead dorfs won't be removed from the squad list.

Yeah I also had a strange thing where the squads target got killed (by something else) and it never removed the order to kill it so they just stood in the barracks until I cancelled the order.

That happens even if they kill it. It's kind of annoying, but better than the old station-chasing.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the new squad organization. I love the new forms of training and the additional orders, but I preferred the old system where they were in the military until you deactivated the squad... now I have to jump through hoops just to get them to stop cleaning.
