[Community Burrows] Enolral
« on: April 16, 2010, 06:01:46 pm »

Someone else has a city-state thread, and I saw that it might be fun to do my own.
My objective is to learn how to use burrows better.
Each person gets a dwarf and they say what they want it to do. The idea is a group of standalone forts, but you can team if you want. Each person updates their orders each day.
Each person may make requests for what they would like the wagon to bring.
If someone would tell me how to edit embark points, I might be willing to fiddle with them.

Embark:
Wile have mountains, sedimentary layer, flux, 150z underground, river, and maybe a volcano.

Starting Seven Slots:
1. Mr. Potato
2. Gaxkang
3. Pedro
4. Captain Brunch
5. Sheb
6. Broccoli
7. Melkorp

I plan to start this on Monday. I'll try and play through 2 seasons a day. I'll attempt to have a side for that accepts immagrants, so we'll have a supply of dwarves to chose from.

Pedro, you have been added.

If anyone else wants to add plans, drawings or maps of what they want built feel free.

Sheb

Weaponsmithing 5
Armorsmithing 5

-One pick
I guess an anvil would be too epansive? Take an axe then.

Plan: Go by the river, designate is a drinking spot, collect plant until I've got 3, then start digging down. Create a small hovel (bed, table, chair) in the first rock layer, erect a wall around the entranceway (with a drawbridge over the river) then start digging down, down, down until the magma. Seal any cave away.

Once he can secure an anvil, he'll trade weapons and/or armor for food, furnitures and drinks. Lots of drinks.

EDIT: Do you guys know how hard it is to find a volcano without an aquifer, much less one with a river! I'm on my fifth world and  I've only found one without an aquifer.
EDIT 2: Do you guys know how long it takes to gen a Large Region? 30+ minutes! On the plus side, I think I found an embark.
EDIT 3: The route of a stream can change between embarks. Weird...
EDIT 4: Never mind, I just misplaced a volcano...

Okay, I designated stuff but haven't un-paused. I have a pretty good embark, with a brook, a few trees and a really large volcano.
Everyone is in the area of the brook.

Less Hauling for me.

I'll need about 40 outdoor tiles for natural foliage walled in.  Other than that, have fun.
