I think Toady made it so we can jump over pits.

I'm trying to jump down a hole at the moment, but I can't.  Every time I alt-move over it, my dwarf is suddenly flying, and the only movement I can make at all is back to the ground.  Think this was intended to be the ability to leap over 1-tile pits?

Edit:  Oh wait, just noticed the pit is filled with topless ice walls.

I keep thinking glacier fortress would be fun, but it always ends up as cave layer fortress.

Um. Try getting some creature to extremely high speeds and then jump off some tall building. Due to the fact that your speed is higher than number of "ticks" required to fall down that distance, you can quita literally navigate in midair and even walk back onto land, before reaching the designated target of the jump.
