Something I did notice Deon. U know the Rifle/Pistoleer. Arent Xbows shorter ranged than bows? So howcome The Xbow Specialty uses Rifles and the Bow Specialty uses pistols. Shouldnt it be the other way?

I figured it was something like similar shooting stances...you keep a rifle/crossbow braced against your shoulder, and a bow/pistol at arms length.

Five questions:

1) Will this mod work with v0.31.23?

2) Is this a .ZIP file?

3) Is there a README thing that tells me how everything works?

4) Are the enemies too horribly hard to fight off?

5) How do I play this?

No, it's an old DF version, however you can play it if you just download it and unpack it. It's a RAR file, so any modern archivator (winrar, 7zip) can unpack it.

Damn! The extraction for RAR files is annoying. It doesn't seem to work. Can you see if you can manage to change it to a .ZIP file?

Is it safe to download? I've heard of people got viruses from downloading from rarlab.com. I know your mods are good Im not willing to lose a computer for a mod.

Googling 'winrar' 'rarlabs.com' and 'virus' gives some articles and forums posts from 2008. They could have had a server compromised at the point in time. Nobodies mentioned anything related in the last 3 years as far as I can tell. I've personally never hada problem with their website.

OK...I've gotten Deon's permission, and put up a updated version of Wasteland for 31.25, added in most of the newer stuff and got the error logs down to mostly pathing errors.  World-gen is still pretty sloppy for the Wasteland North America and Russia maps...I just can't get them to generate past 200 years.  The defaults can go for thousands, so it is something in there.  If anyone knows anything about building working world-gen maps for 31.25 please take a look and see if you can find what is wrong.  There is a list of the changes I've done on the download description as well as in a text file in the Wasteland folder.

I'm going to keep making changes, tweaking stuff back and forth cleaning up the raws and adding more stuff...but it's Deon's final decision on what sticks and stays.

man...I've gotten the Xenomorph tissue errors fixed...but on the off chance one follows a cave to the surface...it's...just disgusting...one drone made it up around year 40...and went on a 500 year killing spree...getting over 200 "noteable" kills...and 400 odd "other"s untill it got taken down by a random rifleman in a Wastelander city.

So I guess they're just fine then...I'll have them up in an update soon.

Yep, the game considers their natural armor to be TOO GOOD. The worldgen battles are weird in any case. There's a chanace for a kobold to kill a dragon, and some sand titans get hundreds of kills while they can be killed with one hit...
