As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Okay, I already have a 3.17 compatible ASCII version with all worldgen parameters ported, but it will take some time to draw all the remaining creatures and setup the graphics version.

That's what I do right now. I test and finetune xenomorphs because you said you like them. I've made their teeth to pierce chitin clothing (before that random peasants wearing radscorpion chitin clothing were almost immune to them) and added searing acid to their bite. A few more tweaks and I think I will release the ASCII version. It will suit those who play without graphics well, and it will allow to fix something that needs to be fixed while I draw sprites.

Or rather, xenos can kill predators as easily as predators kill xenos.
Heh, can't wait for the new update.
Also, the *You inject blabla!* looks nice.
Can you describe the effects of the acid?
Burning skin?
But I been thinking about the xenos, acids etc. and:
Xenos have stingers on their tails (watched all Aliens movies :P), which inject poison\acid, so maybe adding a tail stinger attack to the xenos and making it poisonous would be also reasonable.

The acid causes partial paralysis, burns, pain and necrosis.

The stingers of my xenos do not inject poison, but they are great for stabbing internal organs and cutting heads off.


1.0 ASCII
1.0) Fixes ported from .31.12->.31.17 transition, new version support, xenomorphs get poisonous bite and all beasts get sharper claws/teeth.



I will release a graphical version later. I will also work on new critters.

I am quite sad that you can't make ranged aimed attacks, but it would probably be too much... If you could headshot people it would be totally awesome, but a skilled man with an assault rifle would kill anything. Probably it should be this way, hehe. Maybe we will get aimed ranged attacks eventually.

Eh, I forgot to add that there's now a semimegabeast variation of a deathclaw and a xenomorph, and deathclaws+xenos got innate biting/clawing/dodging skills, so they should be harder to kill now.
