OK, I've fixed the main download so there's no need for some fixes.

Here's the screenshot of the ground. Notice all the different plants. Once you learn what is what, you will be able to direct your herbalists to gather only needed ones:



Also trees now have a trunk and leaves in different colors, so no more "totally green" trees.

I had a small error in 0.71 so 0.72 is here, fixed and totally playable :P.

Also a warning: DO NOT SETTLE IN HOT/SCORCHING AREAS!

Current DF rain burns people to death. I cannot fix it, we need Toady to patch it :(.

My dweller refused to eat in 0.7 will they in 0.72? Or is it some 0.31.04 bug?

It's some 03/04 bug and I don't know what causes it. It was perfectly before. However I will try to find a pattern.

Were they hunting for vermin?

P.S. 0.73 should have it fixed now. There were some materials problems and I haven't playtested them after the new release because of the lack of time. I will playtest it now too.

I'm uploading 0.73. Also I remembered to add Display Case building.

Sorry for buggy releases lately, I haven't slept normally for a few days so it's hard to concentrate :P. Thank you very much to all who point out bugs (rex mortis now :D).

P.P.S. Do you have no in-game music too? Because I have music in the menu but I cannot hear the song in the game.

They were indeed hunting for vermin. And unhappy. Not that they had much to be happy about.

I checked out vanilla 04. Dwarves at least seem to eat stuff. So fortunately it is not something we need to wait toady to fix.

I get horrible static in title screen when I enable sounds. But I don't have sounds in game either, at least in vanilla.

Yep I think it was material bug. Is it ok in 0.73? My wife keeps distracting me so I cannot try it at the moment :P.

P.S. I've tested them and they eat now without problems.

When I was fixing some muscle elasticity values vs teeth/horns, I think I removed some needed tags which made meat edible in 0.72. Anyway, is there something specific you want to see in the next release?

0.75) Infected (infected human, infected hunter, infected bloater), snakes (rattlesnake, cottonmouth snake, sand cobra)

Infected humans are just many; infected hunter once was a man who hunted beasts but now he's a beast himself (sharp claws, fast speed); infected bloaters explode in a poisonous cloud when killed.


I've found how to "fix" sound. Sometimes you cannot scroll and it seems to be tied to no in-game music.

Anyway, just relaunch DF, once in a while there will be scrolling and music.

For all of those who live in USA. I have a bad knowledge of US geography and there's only  so much you can do with world painter, but I want your opinion:

Definitely going to settle in Hot/Scorching areas!

That North American Map looks good.

Since you are going for custom nobles, perhaps the Arsenal Manager could be replaced with Armory Guard, like the guy from the first Fallout game the player could ask for a shotgun.

Thank you, I forgot the name of that guy's profession. I will definitely use it :).

I will add more infected, bloatflies and mosquitos and some changes plus a map of North America and Russia soon. I will use your suggestion too.

DF Players never truly leave.  They just abandon the fortress for a few years and then reclaim.
