Repeating Crash Bug - Opening Military Screen Causes Crash
« on: April 15, 2010, 10:31:41 pm »

This is the second fort I've had that has become unplayable due to this bug.

What happens is my fort enters the second year and at some point after that opening the military screen causes a crash forcing me to revert to an earlier save.

Now, when I load that save, every time I open the military screen it crashes without fail. The save is several ingame months before the original bug occurred.

I'd really like to play the new version but I can't get past the first year due to this bug.

Does anyone know a workaround? I don't see anyone else complaining about similar issues.

Which version are you using? 31.03 fixes some military screen crash bugs among others.

Probably should go report it on the bugtracker if you haven't already.

Yea, I'll get to it eventually. I only have a few hours between work and school to do things on my own and I'll be damned if I'm going to use them doing the same things I do at work (i.e. troubleshooting and reporting on said troubleshooting).

Took me nearly a week to find time to make this thread.

I'm aware of that. But I'm not being paid to bugtest, and as I said, my time is limited. The only reason I have time to be on the forums tonite is because I'm reviewing for a test I have tomorrow morning.

In the time you took to post in this thread you could have posted the save to some place somewhere and reported the bug.

A reproducible crash from a save file is a wonderful thing.

Anyway, this thread should be in the bug reports forum.

Well I had a few more free moments so I went ahead and submitted the bug report. I'm pretty pissed that I had to create a new account for that as well, I have too many damn accounts as everything these days has to be done with some sort of account I swear. Gets annoying.

In any case, it's up there, with a link to the save that's getting the issue, I deleted my old one that also had the issue.

I can't be the only one though, unless I'm doing something odd that's causing it. You'd think we'd have heard more about an unavoidable crash somewhere into year 2 that then makes the fort unplayable due to constant crashes after you reload.
