Hi!

That was a nice story, thanks for sharing.

And if Tormus thereafter sticks around the masonry or forge, don't worry - he is just checking whether his new surf board is ready yet :) :) :) :) :)

Actually in this versions, things in magma drown only. Otherwise, their fat just melts off without killing them and after that, nothing happens.

Well, the fat'll melt off, but it'll cause heavy bleeding too - eventually killing them.

Oy Malsqueek, if you check the description for your cat does it describe it as having no fat?
there a guide in adventure mode board explaining ow to swim in magma by lighting a tree and slowly melting the fat off, the trick is the fat melts slightly faster than bleeding out.

do you have a link? i can't find it and I would love to read that lol

[edit] nm, found it. i wonder why searching the forum for 'magma' doesn't turn up a thread on the first page...

As a result of my extensive research, I must say that if any creature is left in a fair amount of magma for some time they will begin to "melt" in general, and will bleed to death horribly while running around like one of the baddies in Robocop after he crashed into the nuclear waste.

Actually tormus is not the first of its kind. (although mine suffered a worse fate)

In one of my early forts a cat got stuck in the magma duct. The magma slowly made its way to the cat, as it ran to the end of the duct (which had an open roof leading outside, but no stairs).
The cat sat there, waiting for its death. Sadistic as I am, I watched anxiously.
But then, it got covered in 7/7 magma and didn't burn/asplode... I was like "wtf?" and continued my usual fortworks.

Later that day the cat still was in 7/7 magma and didn't burn. I saved the fort, and loaded it back later. When I unpaused a big cloud of smoke emerged from where the invincible cat once was...

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.
