The most pathetic creature I've encountered?

A soap maker trailed by his family, expecting to find employment in my fortress in his chosen occupation.

A titan made of mud. It chased a kitten around for about a season --unable to kill it-- and finally died after meeting a trained dog.

It was a sad, sad sight.

A snow demon. Got his hand punched off by a gem setter, before being punched in half in the next second.
Sadly, the other demons weren't that weak.

A noble! And his consort! Dear Armok, I think the spikes in the migrant rejection office will need to be replaced...

On a more serious note, I once had a dragon show up.
It walked past my cage traps.
Then my military.
Then it sat in my dining hall and chatted with my idle dwarfs.
Turns out I had tamed it in a previous fort and it still decided to invade my new fort :).

*The fortress is abandoned, leaving the lone pet dragon to wonder at its fate. It wanders around the empty halls for a while before deciding to move on, crying forlornly for its lost masters. After several lonely days, a familiar scent drifts across the breeze, causing the dragon to look up. Vomit. Blood. Alcohol. Sweat... Could it be? It dashes over as fast as it can, tongue lolling out in happiness as it gallops, flies and bounds towards the scent, ignoring the cage traps which it was taught to avoid, rushing past the surprised guards to find its way back into another dwarven hall. It was home.*

Sorry, but the idea of a dragon wandering around to find its dwarfy friends was too amusing. It's like Homeward Bound, but with a big, fire-breathing flying lizard.

A giant.

It got a big fanfare when it appeared, and then a kobold ambush mobbed it and killed it within 10 seconds.

When i assumed a Terrifying Biome would be the "perfect defence" i assumed it would be the skeletal slephants, not kobolds killing off unwanted things, like caravans.

A one-eyed pelican, according to its description is breathed fire which sounded scary but in actuality it just stood there while my military chopped it up. It didn't even attack once or attempt to burn anyone. Pathetic.

EDIT: but that's not including the normal pathetic creatures like:
The Plump Helmet men. Those poor, delicious bastards.

I always feel bad when they wander into my traps. Plump Helmetman doesn't mean anyone any harm. But the spinning piece of stone doesn't know that.

The desert titan Naza Stezospun Bonesudast has come! A gigantic sauropod composed of mud. It has three long, piral horns and it has an austere look about it. Beware its deadly spittle!

A mud dinosaur. Ran in, smashed my temporary trade depot, an above ground farm I set up early and forgot about, then got jumped by a dwarf and dropped. Still, I think its deadly spittle may have made one of my dwarves clean itself.

Ustxu Iceraped the Frigid Crystal of Slaughter was a glacier titan. It was the only one of its kind. A gigantic feathered carp composed of crystal glass. It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

Steam blob. Wrestler runs through blob. Blob disappears. Wrestler continues to run. That is exactly how it went. I almost cried for the poor blob.

40d Hydras. They have 7x the chance to get a head fatally lopped off than other monsters.

Nuff said.

This thread makes me think some of these creatures are manic depressives.

It almost makes me feel bad when they get chopped up. Or run through by a wrestler. He probably thought it was just another puff of smoke from some idiot on fire.

currently the most pathetic thing I've had was a dragon. It ran around toasting cowardly dwarves for a while and decided she wanted to cut one of them up with her claws. She got punched in the face, once, and died on the spot.
