Yes, max handsize is 5. If you get more than that, you have to discard at the end of your turn.

Oh, I made a mistake then. Weird.
Neyvn, there are two ways you can get a card. One is Upgrade. This means that I put my Dwarf Peasant in my Crypt. Then, I play my Dwarf Smith for free, and it is tapped.

Upgrade - You may play this card without paying its resource cost by removing the indicated card that you control from play and sending to your crypt.

The other way is purchasing. I pay two food to get my Dwarf Smith, again tapped, but I don't have to spend my Peasant.

Also, you seem to have Upgraded. That means that you have to send your Peasant to the crypt. Do you want to do that, or do you want to redo your turn?
