Modding kobolds to attack?
« on: April 15, 2010, 08:08:41 am »

Somewhere I read that kobolds only attack when their thieves manage to steal valuable stuff. Not wanting to lower my defenses to let them steal something (not to mention they won't survive entering my fort anyways), I wonder if there's a way to change the raws to get them to attack without the need for stolen stuff?

Couldn't you just create a finished goods stockpile outside of your fortress?

I believe taking away the [SKULKING] tag from the kobold entity will do the trick; the tag sets the attacking based on amount of items/babies stolen rather than the passage of time, as the wiki says.

Hmm, so when I'm ready to request the kobolds come, I should place one of my aluminum mechanisms outside for them to nab.  Good to know.

Yes, removing [SKULKING] did the trick, thank you :)

Leaving finished goods outside didn't really work out for me. Not to mention I could easily have a masterwork item get there and and run into a tantrum when it gets stolen.
