So, I just got a strange announcement from an unexplored part of the underground.

Stākud Ikulbomrek, Swordsdwarf has entered a martial trance!
He stops trancing a little while later.
I order my miners to dig me a path over there, and on arriving, all I see is a bunch of hostile antmen and their food.
No swordsdwarf, no blood.
Very strange.

I've had a similar occurrence, where upon embark I was just going through my usual smelter/forge build order when I suddenly had announcements that naked mole men and other sentient creatures has run off with prepared food that I did not own or bring on embark.  I couldn't find said "men" on my units list, nor could I find food that wasn't mine on the stocks list.

Somehow, I think the game was announcing stuff that was happening among hidden cave dwellers.

Yes, please tell us, I'm intrigued. Maybe he's an AI  adventurer that got lost in these caverns and managed to scuttle off the edge of the map before you got there.

Now that would be sweet. Random adventurer's showing up after slaughtering their way past Forgotten Beasts and animalmen in the dark depths of the earth. Especially if they then join the fort.

I've had random announcements of animalmen martial trancing in cavern layers I haven't even breached as their civilization did battle with a giant opal, two-tailed scorpion forgotten beast.
