Just fought a lagombi, that was possibly the most annoying gaming experience this year... Is the map filled with infinite giggi and melynx every time the quest is repeated?

Really? I think the Lagombi is super fun, definitely my favorite fanged beast so far.

Though I haven't fought the Zinogre yet - I'm hoping that's actually challenging, because the other three have been pushovers.

I had trouble because I had to stop every few seconds to stop the giggi/melynx from stealing my blood/stuff for about half of the battle. Killing them didn't seem to help, more kept coming...

melynx and giggi always spawn constantly, I think, it's just more irritating because you're dodging a giant rabbit.

Always carry the catnip plant thing. Especially when your carrying some combo books.

I... I just lost a Rathian Ruby because the quest rewards timer ran out. I don't know why that exists in single player.

I should not be punished for skipping around my room and bragging to my friends in my excitement. I wanted to stare at it a bit before I shoved it in my box, but no, it's gone forever.

Where's the out of context thread when you need it?

For some reason, I'm not getting any flintstones... I make sure to break both the flints whenever fighting a qurupeco, but still nothing.

There's only a 50% chance per flint to get a flintstone. You should make sure to capture it as well - the rewards have a 20% chance of being a flintstone.

1/2 to the power of 2*3 = 1/26 = 1/64 = how much this game hates me.

In tri I spent 3 weeks cutting off rathalos tails trying to get a rathalos tail drop. after the first week i got down to where i could cut off the tail harvest it, end quest, and start again in a period of 15 minutes. I never did get a rathalos tail.

in other news, ive been contemplating buying a 3ds and getting 3U for awhile now. im somewhat conflicted on whether i should just get a WiiU instead.

You might have to fight the qurupeco in a quest to get the flintstones. I know the king's frill from Great Jaggi works in a similar manner, at least.

On another note, I've finally managed to be straight up taken out in a quest three times by my first monster, Gigginox!

I am terrible with poison. And DoT's in general really, that's probably why I had such an issue with qurupeco.

Oh yeah, you can't get break bonuses if you're free hunting. If you're farming parts, always do it during a quest.

Oh, it's specifically break parts? I guess screamers just carve from great jaggis' normally then. Handy!

Not that breaking his head is really an issue. I somehow think not breaking the head would be harder.
