I now have three decent swords to switch between. Fire damage, water damage, or paralysis. I'm happy.

Also fighting a gigginox is quite annoying. They're the gobuls of the tundra.

I agree. I ended up with way more of the super-rare drops than the ordinary-rare drops. Go figure.

Ah so the plates drop in low hr? For some reason I was thinking that was a high hr item.

Also is there any difference between the rookie server and the open server aside from what levels can join?

Plates drop in LR and HR at the same rate, apparently. http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Monster_Carves_%26_Rewards#Rathalos

I may be misremembering how things work, but that link suggests that plates have a higher drop rate in HR...

LR:
Tail - 3%
Capture - 2%
Wound - 3%
Shiny - 2%

HR:
Tail - 12%
Capture - 3%
Shiny - 3%

Especially good since the tail is pretty easy to sever so you could give up the hunt each time.

I was fighting a Rathian in low HR and my friend got one plate from the tail and one plate from the capture. Not fair.

Current plan of action:

1) Farm Lagiacrus until I get another horn. Make Lagia Sword.
2) Farm Rathians until I get a plate. Make Rathain armor.
3) Farm Agnaktor or something? I don't really know. It probably has some good equipment though. Ooh, it has sweet guard stuff on its armor. Definitely going to get my hands on that.

I forgot what the Agnaktor armor has, only that it's really good with lancers. The guard stuff is useless on pretty much everyone else because I doubt that you'll be blocking Agnaktor laser beams and Ceadeus hydro pumps with either a puny SnS or a GS. It's only really beneficial for the lance. Besides, it looks really ridiculous as an armor.

Oh well, Rathian gear definitely has enough fire resistance. And then I'll grab some Barioth stuff for ice and water.

Then maybe Ingot or Lagiacrus for thunder, though I'm hopefully going to be in high rank by then.

Also why does the Diablos stuff not come with pants?

So if you're a mutant guy, you can show of your horns as you charge at someone.
